Lawrence Tribe blew the whistle on the rank hypocrisy of his Harvard Law School colleague Alan Dershowitz, who was just added to Trump’s legal team to argue that abusing his power is not an impeachable offense if he hasn’t committed an actual crime. Turns out Dershowitz took the exact opposite position when Bill Clinton was impeached.
.@AlanDersh comments on impeachment on Larry King Live, 8/24/98
01:41:04 DERSHOWITZ: “It certainly doesn't have to be a crime if you have somebody who completely corrupts the office of president and who abuses trust and who poses great danger to our liberty.”

And here’s the video of Dershowitz on Larry King Live making that argument:

And now he argues that, “Abuse of power, even if proved, is not an impeachable offense. That’s what the Framers rejected. They didn’t want to give Congress the authority to remove a president because he abused his power.” Dershowitz has turned himself from serious constitutional into a buffoon on Trump’s behalf. Odd behavior for an alleged and self-described liberal, don’t you think?
