The incredibly dim Fox News host Greg Gutfeld made the bizarre argument that the new revelation from John Bolton that Trump personally told him that he wanted to withhold nearly $400 million in badly needed military aid from Ukraine to pressure them to investigate his rival Joe Biden actually supports Trump.
GREG GUTFELD (CO-HOST): So, we don’t know who leaks it. We know why. The timing tells you why. This is in order to nail the president. But the thing that I don’t understand is nobody’s actually seeing the actual quote —
DANA PERINO (CO-HOST): Because I think it could actually defend the president.GUTFELD: It could defend him. I mean, here’s the deal. People are freaking out on the right about this, and I’m going like it vindicates Trump because he’s telling everybody what Trump really thought which is that Ukraine was corrupt and he was — on behalf of the Dems, and this is what he’s trying to do. But now this is just like another bomb shell. The media has TBD, terminal bombshell disease. A belch is a bombshell. But it’s nothing. But the bottom line is nobody knows what it is.
Uh, yeah. Except not once does Trump even mention corruption, just like he never mentions corruption once in his July 25th phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky. He only mentioned the Bidens. Not once does he ever show the slightest concern about corruption in Ukraine prior to this scandal blowing up, when he suddenly brought it up as an excuse for his quid pro quo. The truth is the only person who displayed any corruption here was Trump himself.
