There’s a scene in the movie The Naked Gun where Leslie Nielsen is standing in front of a huge disaster telling people, “Move along, nothing to see here.” Trump might as well be Leslie Nielsen. No matter how obviously bad things are, he has it totally under control and everything is absolutely fine. A perfect example is his tweet about the coronavirus and the stock market.
The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!

So if the CDC does such a great job, why did he ignore their advice and overrule them when it came to bringing those Americans infected with the coronavirus on the cruise ship in Japan? Worse, he transported them on a commercial plane full of healthy people, possibly exposing them to the virus as well. And why did he cut the funding for the Prevention and Public Health Fund (PPHF), which provides 12% of the funding for the CDC? He’s also cut CDC funding directly. I guess that’s how you show what a great job they’re doing.
As for the stock market, this tweet was sent out about an hour after the Dow crashed more than 1000 points on Monday because of fears of the effect of the coronavirus, That looks good to him? Move along, nothing to see here. Everything is coming up roses and daffodils.
