On Hoping the Pilot Fails

On Hoping the Pilot Fails

Some have told us we shouldn’t hope for the failure of the pilot flying the plane we all happen to be riding.  True.  Here’s something else that’s true:  You don’t let a drunk, or incompetent, or unfit pilot get on the plane in the first place.  And, if you do, if you were fooled, if you just didn’t see the signs, didn’t care, didn’t like the other pilot, whatever, once you realize there’s a problem, you immediately get someone’s attention so they can get the pilot away from the controls so the co-pilot can take over.  What you don’t do is sit there and hope for the best.  That would be dumb.  And dangerous.
