Installing Democracy!

I have had this question ever since the start of the Iraq war..

If Democracy is the government of the people, by the
people, for the people.. as Abraham Lincoln said so well….

then, pray, HOW does one INSTALL DEMOCRACY IN ANOTHER COUNTRY?

Does it remain Democracy anymore?
