VIOLET COLOR: ITS GREAT IMPORTANCE Today I wish to call your attention about some important considerations about the correct appreciation of our wonderful bright violet color. First, when I knew about the fact the colors are more a subjective perception I was really surprised. Our objective mind computes more easily the black, gray and white colors. This is why the still black and white photographs are so well appreciates, the same is applied to black and white movies and when we read the black letters on a white background. Ah! But the amazing bright violet color! How it is a feast for our psychic eyes, because it allow us be aware of the fantastic fourth dimension. According to most masters of the esoteric world, this dimension is a more accurate reflection of what the real world is. Read more

Yahoo groups started a great mechanism to bring people together. Google groups also followed. These egroups are very easy ways to link people in a way such that every one can interact through the ubiquitous emails. Sadly the social networking sites have even as yet not evolved to a point where they could provide such service. I know that I am a member of my high school and MBA school yahoo groups and have been very happy at being linked with all those old friends again. Have gained tremendously from so many. Sometimes the groups subscribed to can be a lot and it becomes difficult to manage them. Now, there is a new way (site) to combine all the Yahoo and Google groups together - Grouply. You can now get a digest of all your messages daily consolidated in one email. This way you know which all groups you are part of and can manage your interaction better - instead of having an inbox cluttered with emails from all sorts of groups that you are part of! That's a lot of savings on time and email space! It was precisely because of this that I had turned many of my groups messaging to "Web Only"! This is a good way to get back in touch with them and also get subscribed to lots of good groups that I did not want to join for the fear of cluttering my inbox more! Read more

Pakistanis in the US are worried about the Indian "influence" and so they want to counter it. They think that Obama's thinking and actions on Pakistan are based on what Indian Americans tell him. Strange for a guy who has lived in Pakistan and not in India! The newly formed Pakistan American National Alliance (PANA) is the new lobbying group formed by the Pakistanis. Their grievance: that Indians have been lobbying and putting pressure on the US administration. Interesting isn't it? One lobbyist abusing another lobbyist because that other guy is... well.. a lobbyist! That is about the strongest argument this group has against the Indians as of now.[1] Read more

Does your destiny affect how popular you are in a group? Well, scientists think so. Nicholas Christakis of the Harvard University, who led the team, says that a person's place in a network or a group depends on his/her genes. Two things seem to take precedence - Genes and Upbringing. Heck, it seems that even before a person is born one a person is destined his/her place in his school and college and indeed entire social life! I had read somewhere that what parents do and eat does end up changing the genes inherited by the kids (can't find the link now). So, I guess we are in some way creating the futures of our kids - as to what they eat, how they behave and how they are perceived. Link between habits and genes has been thought to be existing only one way - like an open loop. It has not been realized by many that even the habits of a person could affect the genes of that person.. a closed loop, as it were. If this were to be true then we are very much in charge of our destinies and future. What is your view on how habits affect the genes? Have you seen it happen anywhere? Read more

Do you want to share thoughts with a community of intellectually inclined and thinking readers? Over the years, as we have shared the thoughts on the blogs, more and more readers who value thought-provoking stuff have joined. They keep reading and interacting regularly and gaining and contributing to this community. I have interacted with many on my own and have been enriched by our interaction. Read more

We Indians are capable of a lot of humor and in strange and many places! Look at these examples and enjoy the obvious humor - often unintended - in such unknown places! Read more

Obama is has won on the slogan of Change. Well, many have piggy backed on that message and gone out to use it. Like these three Indian Airlines companies have tried.. in a billboard fight in India.. all out in the public! Very interesting! Read more

We have discussed sometimes before that the "moderate dialog" in Islam and show of tolerance is just a front for what is even more sinister that is being preached, discussed and spread around the world. Specially in the minds of the youth. These are dispatches from Channel 4 (British Channel) where the reporter goes undercover to the mainstream and the main mosques in Britain and records what is preached in the mosques. What one sees in mainstream and regular religious dialog is mindboggling! One suddenly wonders if all the talk of religious tolerance, the human rights, and women rights that many of these clerics and other moderates keep talking about are just a hog-wash! To understand how this works, you will see it at every step and in every "moderate" voice and one can't find more stark example than in the statement of the Saudi Government (which you will see in this film). The themes are no different than what Osama Bin Laden, Hamid Gul, or others preach regularly. That is what they totally and unequivocally believe in and work towards. The message is uncompromising and of complete domination. It is stark and terrible to even fathom what the kids and youth are being brain-washed with. Read more

Obama's coming in as the US President was indeed a great event. But such was the interest in his swearing in that web sites were gearing up for more traffic. What happened was amazing though - the web traffic based on the search queries fired on Google shows that the world almost stopped![1] Not only this, people also weren't uploading pictures on Flickr [2] nor listening to their favorites songs on Last.fm [3] Although many sites offered streaming video - who might have seen a spike - many normal attention hogs had more humble time during those few minutes! We have watched Zaid Hamid earlier speak nonsensical on what was a mainstream media in Pakistan. Well, he is not alone. Here is the Former ISI Chief and a chief suspect and planner of many a attack on India. Here he is talking to Fareed Zakaria on GPS - one of my favorite News programmes that comes on Sunday afternoon 12 noon CST here in the US. Just watch him and listen to his replies. It is bad enough that he comes off as a completely hallucinating and incredible person... but that he is also crooked mind combined with that baggage of religious nonsense makes you wonder! Where is the world headed? We have a bunch of brain-washed idots carrying centuries old hurts - the evidence for which you only find in some story books called "scriptures" by some! Can it get worse than that? And then.. after this kind of completely lunatic situation, one is supposed to believe that religions are for peace!? Religions are repository of hurts, anger and vengeance... love or faith is just a cover! Read more
