Indian and US are conducting Naval exercises in the Arabian Sea called "Malabar Exercises". In these exercises, the navies will test their readiness and learn and derive benefits from each other. US and India have significant convergence of interests, especially in the maintenance of maritime security in this region. The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), however, said that it will protest against the exercises. It will organise protests all along the west coast of the country. The protests will be held in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala. People like S. Ramachandran Pillai, V.S. Achuthanandan, Pinayari Vijayan, Brinda Karat and K. Is genius better than a talent that blooms late? What is the difference? There are many artists, singers, writers who start to get famous late in life. So, is being "talented" a function of when the society wakes up to the gifts of a person or is it independent of recognition from the society? It could be that the society just wakes up late to a person who was say hitherto living in a small village and could not be "discovered". But sometimes, it is also that a person reaches a certain emotional maturity at a certain time.. due to some incident that suddenly makes one see things in ways that he/she has not realized earlier. Then, an ordinary novelist or an ordinary painter suddenly transforms into a Great Artist! For example, Guru Dutt was a good director but it was not until he made masterpieces like Kagaz ke Phool and Pyaasa that he was truly counted as a genius! On the other hand, Raj Kapoor started by making masterpieces! Read more

FORMULA OF TWELVE DAILY ACTIONS 1. Upon waking up every morning let's acknowledge God with a prayer. Then acknowledge His creation: Nature. > 2. Right away smile with your spouse and children. Later on with people on your way to work. At work with all your companions and associates. 3. Mentally and from the heart please be grateful for the opportunity of meeting new people. Rather, now view them as other spiritual beings on the path, and feel their auras. 4. Listen just a little bit more to your inner voice by quieting your intellect. Read more

Writing is one thing I, dread the most. Ask me to articulate my views on a topic? You would find me sitting for long hours and result: one whole sentence. For some reason of I don’t know, words hold back and I am unable to put my thoughts on paper. After school today, I opened M.word ,to write an article on “ Festivals of India: other side of the coin” , I found myself unconsciously “google” the topic in order to come up with a descent thought alike article. Read more

Today India shot for the moon! (India's Evolution) It has been a lot of years that India has been growing in stature in the space community.. but ultimately it was the aim for the moon! China is also in that race and so is India. China had their astronaut walk in space and India wanted to do something about the moon! So, the cosmos war that was on in 1960's between USSR and USA is now going on between China and India. Chandrayaan-1, India's maiden moon spacecraft, was on Wednesday put into Transfer Orbit around the earth by the Polar Launch Vehicle about 19 minutes after it blasted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre here. The 1,380 kg Chandrayaan-1, carrying 11 payloads, was released into a Tansfer Orbit at a perigee (nearest point to earth) of about 250 km and apogee (farthest point from the earth) of about 23,000 km, 18.2 minutes after the PSLV-C11 blasted off as the scientists broke into jubilation at the mission control centre. After a series of procedures over the next two weeks, the spacecraft would reach its desired Lunar orbit and placed at a height of 100 km from the Lunar surface, marking the operational phase of the mission which would put India in the elite lunar club. Shaped like a rectangular prism, the 1,400kg spacecraft, whose name means 'moon vehicle', is on a two-year orbital mission. It will carry 11 payloads, including those from other countries. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists say that the lunar mission will be one of the most intense scientific explorations of its kind, and will have several beneficial technological spin-offs. The mission's objectives include preparing a 3-D atlas of the moon's regions and a chemical mapping of the entire lunar surface, and exploring the availability of water and helium, a clean source of energy. Read more

Ostensibly this kind of logic doesn't sicken many in the world today but I feel this kind of thinking is completely nauseating! In March, under Palin, the Alaskan Board of Game authorised the shooting of wolves from helicopters - something which hadn't been done for twenty years. This led to the killing of 14 wolf pups in a remote peninsula, some 800 miles south west of Anchorage. First their mothers were killed from the air, then the orphaned pups were discovered in their dens and were dragged out and shot. Environmentalist claim the killings were illegal and were done as part of an initiative to boost caribou populations for the benefit of hunters. State officials, however, insist the shootings were humanitarian, saying the pups would have suffered and died without the care of their parents. (Oh Yeah!! Then Why kill the parents? Only to kill the kids as well??) Read more

Today there are many people around the globe very dissatisfied with their careers,so they feel unhappy mainly because their daily efforts can't be channeled properly seeing just a little advancement. We, human beings feel our heart rejoice when our work make many people happy. How do we know this? Because people smile back at us.In their smile there is our reward. If your proffesion doesn't achieve this, then commit yourself in activities in which you can make people enjoy this wonderful life by letting them appriciate the good and the beauty of our world. Unfortunately the media seeks more bad news that good one. Human sorrow sells more than human accomplishments. Wouldn't it be an excellent idea to learn once more to see all the positive aspects that Nature, humanity and our universe is offering us? It's like always taking right turns instead of taking difficult left turns while driving. Eay does it! If we show an attitude of an eagerness to always try to give our hand to needy people by needy people I mean people in need to be loved, people who wish to be counted on constructive projects, people who need our friendship. People of all ages; children, elderly people, in short everybody! Read more

If you wanted to know what is wrong with the American hospital and health care system then this case amply demonstrates it. A woman while playing volleyball fractures her foot. Goes to the hospital. The receptionist sees her and "assesses" her so she can sit in a line. She waits for 19 hours.. no doctor! She wants to go away without any care. She is given a bill for $162! Why? "She's not paying for waiting," says Rick Rhine, the hospital's vice president in charge of billing. "She's paying for the assessment she received." And, what, pray, was this esoteric "assessment" all about?? Read more

I hope that you will listen, but not with the memory of what you already know; and this is very difficult to do. You listen to something, and your mind immediately reacts with its knowledge, its conclusions, its opinions, its past memories. It listens, inquiring for a future understanding. Just observe yourself, how you are listening, and you will see that this is what is taking place. Either you are listening with a conclusion, with knowledge, with certain memories, experiences, or you want an answer, and you are impatient. Read more

An email forward I got that is worth reading! **** ****** One day Maths teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down. It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers. That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual. On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. 'Really?' she heard whispered. 'I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!' and, 'I didn't know others liked me so much,' were most of the comments. No one ever mentioned those papers in class again.. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on. Several years later, one of the students was killed in 'Kargil' war and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never attended Funeral of a serviceman before. He looked so handsome, so mature. The place was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk.. The teacher was the last one to bless. As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. 'Were you Sanjay's math teacher?' he asked. She nodded: 'yes.' Then he said: 'Sanjay talked about you a lot. Read more
