Ancient esoteric teachings from different sources have always emphasized the daily stimulation of our chakras (psychic centers) before each of our meditations in order to obtain many more benefits from it. These wise instructions recommend us to start with an invocation to our divinity, to the God of our hearts, the God of our comprehension then to lit some first quality incense, plus a pleasurable background music to set the appropriate physical, mental and spiritual moods. Throughout centuries of experimenting they also discovered the tremendous importance the using of our vivid imagination to reach high planes of cosmic communion. Not only has our psychic sensitiveness increased, but also our spiritual awareness as well. These daily stimulations also help us to maintain an ideal state of well being. Our thinking improves to a degree of obtaining clearer and more accurate ideas, thoughts and feelings which facilitate the set of our goals. Experienced observed in students from different backgrounds and ages have proven that just after a couple of months doing this daily stimulations our psychic centers start to influence our reality regarding to feel more vividly our spiritual immense world. This majestic sphere of pure spirituality starts to influence our lives in very positive ways. Our perspective about dealing with difficult people improves a lot because the negative vibrations coming from these human beings don’t bother us anymore. These negative emanations are easily neutralized first, and then they are transmuted into positive irradiations by our strong magnetic auras. If on the contrary our encounters are with beautiful people their positive emotions, thoughts and words are integrated in our magnetic field effortlessly getting stronger with every encounter. Another great advantage of this auric reinforcement is that the objects that we touch are highly magnetized. On the other side of the coin we are aware that every time we enter a room or an office we immediately start feeling its atmosphere, this impressions about these places could be positive or negative. In other words we are able to feel the hidden messages in the molecular structure of things, places and people. We can see beyond the many times deceiving appearances. Read more

This was written by my friend, Kavita Chhibber. She writes on KavitaChhibber.com and has shared it with all. Troy Davis, is an inmate who was caught for inadequate reasons and was on schedule to go to the Electric Chair. Luckily due to activism by people like Kavita, the US Supreme Court, stayed his execution. The fight to get him justice will not be easy but Kavita and others are trying their best. Here is an article based on her discussion with Troy. Please forward it to all you know! Last Friday the 26th, I was under the surgeon’s scalpel undergoing surgery. Three days later, I drag myself out of bed and a friend drives me to the Georgia Diagnostic Classification Prison, a maximum security prison in Jackson GA, about 90 minutes away from Atlanta where close to 1800 male inmates live behind bars, many of them on death row. I’m going to meet Troy Anthony Davis- the man whose case I took up on 3rd September and whose cause I have supported since then with an intensity that has surprised me. As we turn into the entrance of the prison we pass beautifully landscaped gardens, a lake, a park and beautiful little houses sprinkled along that lush greenery down a long and winding road. It is one of the most peaceful, scenic places you could find. It is also something none of the inmates ever get to see. A fork appears and the instructions tell you to turn left and drive towards the prison. The velvety green grass, awash with rays of the setting sun, fades from view and we approach the gray concrete building. We park and as I begin walking towards the entrance doors, I’m surprised to see a police woman, with kind eyes, welcome me with the warmest smile. And then I hear someone calling my name. Read more

I doubt the politicians in India realize the frustrations of the ordinary people as to how they are behaving and governing the country! They do not realize how disillusioned the businesses are of them at messing things up repeatedly. Worse, they do not realize how mad even our Defense Forces are at the treatment they are meted out. The long tradition has kept the officers strong but quiet. But those who shed blood thanklessly, will eventually start asking - WHY? I got this from my Brother-in-law, who is in the Army. It is a talk that Maj Ashish Khanna gave at DSSC (Defense Services Staff College - an elite Defense Institution in India) few days back. His thoughts expressed here narrate to the present situation in the country and the status of our Armed Forces as they stand today in the political scenario. You may like to send it across to other colleagues/friends. He did convey few words and feelings for his Dear Friends whom he lost so early in life. ****** ********* 1. Gentlemen & Friends!! I want you to consider what a failed state is? Visualise events which would happen in a failed state and then think about certain events in a country, say “X”. a. One state which was limping to normalcy is now entirely divided on communal lines like never before, due to sheer blunders made by X’s politicians and bureaucrats. 16 years of the sheer blood price that the Army has paid in stabilising this state has been wasted in one fell swoop. b. In one state, 25 lakhs have been rendered homeless and on the brink of starvation while politicians squabble over votes and relief rations. c. In one state, Hindus and Christians are killing each other over the murder of a minor politician who probably never deserved to live. d. Eight states are helpless in the grip of Naxalites with an inefficient police cowering in their own police stations. e. Four states have been swamped with forty years of insurgency. The entire demography is being changed forever. Still, major ldrs in power, consider all Bangladeshi immigrants as votebanks to fill their coffers. They refuse to see that if even one in a thousand, decides to plant a bomb in a rickshaw, you will have ten thousand bombs exploding in “X” country! f. A recent trust vote in this country called “X”, saw cash thrown in its parliament and politicians being bought like cattle. All for a deal dying its own death in the NSG. g. Serial bomb explosions in “X” do not count if there are less than three and if the total killed is less than 30. We move on. Read more

During the weekend (September 27, 2008) one of the greatest playback singer of Bollywood movies died. He was 74. Mr. Kapoor had been suffering from kidney ailment and had undergone dialysis as well but was now stable - although now he was suffering from some heart ailment. He died late Saturday in his sleep and was adjudged as having died from Cardiac Arrest. He hailed from Amritsar and got noticed after he won a singing contest at All India Youth Festival in late 1950s. He made his debut in V. Shantaram’s Navrang in 1958, singing Aadha Hai Chandrama Raat Aadhi, under the music direction of C. Ramchandra. He was a fan of Mohammad Rafi and his voice was very close to him. In fact when his first song was aired on All India Radio, the credits were given to Mohd Rafi for the song!! About his relationship with Mohd. Rafi, Mahendra Kapoor once said: “Rafi saab had made it very clear, much before my career hit a high note, that we should not sing together, mainly because of two reasons. One because we shared a guru-chela relationship and there should be no competition between us and secondly because our voices are very similar.” He however sang Ek chand aasman pe hai ek mere paas hai from film Aadmi. Check it out below. Read about how he once gave an autograph to a Rafi fan by signing in as Mohd. Rafi and the rest of his interview here. No one has had a range like Mahendra Kapoor in songs. His voice could go to lower notes and show restrained strength and then immediately to the highest note that any Bollywood singer could dare to get to and show that strength in its complete glory!! In my personal view, he was the voice of a handsome young man! His was a voice of a restrained and disciplined but strong young guy - and no one benefited from it more than Sunil Dutt! His songs for him in BR Chopra's movie gave him that aura of Greek God, that Sunil Dutt had! Read more

Repeatedly, the analysts from Republican side have been stressing that they did not want to pay the Wall Street players for their cheating. And THAT is why they would not want the bail out to happen. That is a great reason for anger. But the truth is FAR bigger and more profound for the world around. Stock Market, as CNN's Ali Velshi has been at pain to explain - a "Side Show"! The real story is the freezing of Credit markets! What does that mean for an ordinary person? I am reminded of Urdu couplet: Dil jala hai to zaalim, ghar bhi jala kar dekh; Duniya ko pata to chale ki aag lagi hai! (If your heart is on fire, lets put our house on fire as well; At least the world will know that something is on fire) I have tried to link the reasons for the mess and the future effects of the mess for all of us. Read more

It seems this week in another cross border attack on Pakistan's Waziristan area using a drone US forces killed 5 more people. Frustrated by an intensifying Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan, U.S. forces have in the past month carried out seven missile strikes by pilotless drones and a commando raid on the Pakistani side of the border. In the latest attack, a drone fired two missiles at a house near the town of Mir Ali in North Waziristan, at about midnight Tuesday (1800 GMT), two intelligence agency officials said. The area is a known sanctuary for Pakistani Taliban and foreign militants near the Afghan border. "We have reports of five dead including foreign militants," said one of the officers, who declined to be identified as he is not authorized to speak to the media. So, hopefully those killed are indeed terrorists and the intelligence is correct. I wonder how will this play out later? McCain and Obama have been sparring over the attacks on Pakistan - and I find McCain's position to be the most nonsensical! Read more

Sarah Palin will have a debate with Biden in a couple of days. So far she has been shielded from interviews and interactions from the media.. because she needed "help"! Quite obviously she does seem very scary. As Fareed Zakaria says - it is very irresponsible of McCain to choose her as his running mate - because actuarial odds of Sarah Palin becoming US President are 20%! The worst thing according to Zakaria is NOT that she was giving a wrong answer but that she did not even understand the question. He was referring to the Katie Curic interview where she talked - well what other word to use - utter nonsense! She has been a Governor of Alaska - and Alaska's economy is only about Oil - where the revenue from Oil is distributed around. So, as Zakaria in an interview exclaimed - that's a great training for a President of Saudi Arabia.. but certainly NOT for the President of the United States! COURIC: Why isn’t it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries? … Instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess? PALIN: Ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up the economy– Oh, it’s got to be about job creation too. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions. Zakaria argues the following: This is nonsense--a vapid emptying out of every catchphrase about economics that came into her head. Some commentators, like CNN's Campbell Brown, have argued that it's sexist to keep Sarah Palin under wraps, as if she were a delicate flower who might wilt under the bright lights of the modern media. But the more Palin talks, the more we see that it may not be sexism but common sense that's causing the McCain campaign to treat her like a time bomb. Can we now admit the obvious? Sarah Palin is utterly unqualified to be vice president. Here is some more of the exchange with Katie Curic... just read through it - its scary and simply insulting to one's intelligence! Her naivette and moronic BS is breath-taking! Read more

Punjabi is by far the best language for humor (and some say even for abusing people). Of Course, any body who has heard or read Amrita Pritam or Shiv Kumar Batalvi will definitely say that its poetry can cut through your heart! Here is dubbing of a clip of Bush and his administration getting ready for an address to the nation (probably for the Iraq War). It is just simply hillarious! Read more

Update: Btw, Wachovia (4th largest bank in the US) has been bought by Citibank. Now, technically it is not a "failure" - but in reality... it obviously is! The deal is: Citi paid $2.2 Bn for - Citi will assume up to 42 billion dollars of losses from a pool of 312 billion dollars of loans held by Wachovia; the FDIC will absorb losses beyond that and take a stake in Citigroup for the guarantee. The Financial deal has failed to pass through the House! 228 to 205... The Republicans say that they were hurt by a para in Nancy Pelosi's speech and so they did not vote for the "Yes" on the deal. What has this precipitated? Well, for starters - the market has had the HIGHEST points drop in HISTORY of the US! For perspective - after 9-11, the point drop was 722. And I just watched the points drop OVER 734! Also, and this is the MOST important - the CREDIT HAS FROZEN! What does that mean? Well, no company has all the money everyday to run their business - pay their salaries or even pay for the inventories - and on somedays a company has more. So, what do they do? They buy and sell instruments called "Commercial Paper". This is a short term (really short term) instrument that provides money at the prevailing rates to EVERY business. And, this is why it is serious!! You can have the BEST assets in the world - but they can remain where they are IF there is no money to move things! THAT money, friends, has FROZEN as we speak! Read more
