Economic Spiral and the movement to a Revolution!

Ghazala says that the poor in Pakistan are finding it hard to eat and a mother was arrested for selling her kids. It is no different in India and elsewhere. While billionaires are being minted the world over - specially in India and other parts of Asia, food - which constitutes the majority part of a family's expenditure for lower income population, is becoming dearer and often out of reach. It is NOT a question of "Nice to Have" acquisition... it is a "Critical to Life" purchase. The oil and energy is becoming expensive and that means the fertilizers and chemicals used in agriculture are going over... which means that the food prices - specially the maintenance types (which the poor use - like wheat, rice etc) will be going up. All this will increase the unhappiness amongst the poor. The rich believing that their money can save them.. but it does not happen often! One day the anger of the poor reaches a crescendo that is unstoppable... and then a Revolution comes... which creates cracks in the very economy that started the spiral! Read more

Knowledge does not bring comprehension of life

Because life is movement, it is not a dead, static thing, and I must therefore approach it with a mind that is capable of looking at it without translating it in certain terms—as a Hindu, a Christian, or whatever it is I happen to be. So, before I can look at the whole picture, I must be aware of how my mind is burdened with knowledge, tradition, which prevents it from looking afresh at that which is moving, living. Global "Ummah" Pain and making of a Terrorist He studied in Aligarh Muslim University. Two of his fellow students told him how the "Muslim Community" needed him to avenge the atrocities against them. He went all the way to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and in Muzaffarabad camp was formally inducted into Lashkar e Toiba. When I say, “I am violent,” and wish to free myself from violence, is the entity who is violent different from the quality which he calls violence? That is, is the experiencer who feels he is violent different from the experience itself? Surely the experiencer is the same as the experience; he is not different or apart from the experience. I think this is very important to understand because if one really understood it, then in freeing the mind from violence, there would be no self-centered activity at all. Read more

Girls save the boys in school

If it wasn't for the girls, we men would not have been able to do anything much! 🙂 Such is the refrain from the fairer side. Well, that may be true to a large extent now. A study by Tel Aviv University now says that Girls have a calming effect on the boys in a class and are a motivation for the boys to perform well. If the boys weren't there, the behavior of the boys suffers tremendously! A higher percentage of girls lowers the amount of classroom disruption and fosters a better relationship between pupils and their teacher, a study of the data suggests. Read more

Musharraf doesn't believe in rights for Tibetans!

"You cannot superimpose the human rights and democracy environment of a Western country onto other countries" says Musharraf of the concern in West about China. He is concerned that people are making too much of noise on Tibet. Although India has not any of what China has been doing in TIbet, for example: - Relocate Han Chinese in millions - Destroy temples of Tibetans around 6000. - Not let them study in schools which are so expensive. - Slowly destroy their culture Next time Musharraf comes out talking about Kashmir "atrocities", lets play his China recording back to him.
