I have been blogging for some years now.. I started by doing some blogs on blogger from Google and then moved to MovableType. After a brief tryst with b2e, I finally settled on Drupal. There is a lot of talk these days on "pro-bloggers" - people who blog as a living! There are many .. and the mecca for all of these is Problogger. Darren Rowse has really helped a lot of bloggers to make money. finding a niche is critical to making money while blogging I personally believe that to make money - realistically become a pro-blogger - you really need to do the following: find a niche - 3 categories give the best results (technology, entertainment and personal development) be very focused be regular and original Now, I know this. However, personally, I like writing on different topics.. and yet I want to retire from work and take up full time blogging! The question is HOW? I just cannot write on just one topic - for the simple reason that I like so many things from Finance to Spirituality to Politics to Science to Movies! So, do I have a future as a blogger? Read more
Nothing much to say on this one.. just that this guy has some stamina!! And also.. being a Hindu.. isn't his marriages "illegal"? The world's oldest father has done it again, fathering a child for at least the 21st time, at the age of 90.Indian farmer Nanu Ram Jogi, who is married to his fourth wife, boasts he does not want to stop, and plans to continue producing children until he is 100.Mr Jogi admits he is not certain how many children his series of four wives have borne him - but counts at least 12 sons and nine daughters and 20 grandchildren.Two-week-old daughter Girija Rajkumari is the latest addition to the proud father's family. "I want to have more children. I can survive another few decades and want to have children till I am 100 - then maybe I will stop." Mr Jogi said.Mr Jogi, who attributes his remarkable virility to daily walks and plenty of meat, said: "I eat all kinds of meat - rabbits, lamb, chicken and wild animals."Mr Jogi fathered his eldest daughter, Sita Devi, in 1943. His latest wife, Saburi, who has given him seven children, was first married to his eldest son Shiv Lal, who died 10 years ago. Read more
My friend, Vish sent in: The American troops in a friendly gesture decided to distribute Soccer balls to Afghan people. In the Spirit of the International presence in Afghanistan, (unlike Iraq, there is NATO presence there) the Soccer balls have flags of various countries. In the spirit of inclusion, the Saudi flag was also put on the balls and the balls were air-dropped on Khost. Now the people are mad at the US. Why? because the Saudi flag on the balls has the 'kalma' on it and people don't want to kick something with Allah's name on it! By the way the Saudi flag also has a naked sword on it, underlining the kalma. One can judge why an instrument of violence has to go with the name of God. Read more
"Interestingly, we've found that the vast majority are not inspired by jihad or hate for the coalition or Iraqi government - the vast majority are inspired by money," said Captain John Fleming of the navy, who is spokesman for coalition detainee operations in Iraq. This is the conclusion of this Brit captain. And this was also the conclusion of my brother-in-law about those in Kashmir. In fact the situation is Kashmir, over the years, had become so bad that the Kashmiris could even trade - literally! - their brothers .... and often sisters.. for money - primarily from the Jehadi top management or from Indian Army! Netaji, Vivekananda, and Aurobindo are the forgotten Bengali geniuses as they are inconvenient to the Marxists Here is another article that clearly shows the utter hypocrisy of the Communists.. and Marxists in particular! People whose masters were and are rabidly arnti-Indian.. can't be presumed to think anything positive anyways! My earlier post based on B. Raman's Article explained how the Indian communists even today influence India's affairs at the behest of the Chinese Government!! Karl Marx took a dim view of India and its heritage.Writing in the New York Tribune dated June 25, 1853 (quoted in Lewis S Feuer edited Marx and Engels Basic Writings, Anchor Books, NY 1959, pp. 474-481) he claimed that the ‘Golden Age’ of India was all myth and India was always a poor starving country. He further went on to admire and appreciate the British for destroying the Indian village industry and economy so that India could ‘modernise’. Read more
