Some great one-liners/Quotes for this morning.. To start with here is one to do with the two US political parties.. in keeping with the elections mood! In our civilization, and under our republican form of government, intelligence is so highly honored that it is rewarded by exemption from the cares of office. - Ambrose Bierce Sometimes it is harder to deprive oneself of a pain than of a pleasure. - F. Scott Fitzgerald We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered. Read more

Another brit is at it again! He called the Muslims cockroaches who want to rule the world and Islam to be a wicked religion. Ostensibly calling Prophet and his friends as bunch of cranks.. he has painted a scary scenario for the whites! Griffin said Muslim community leaders failed to stop it because 'it is part of a plan to conquer the world' and that they would take over the whole of the UK 'as the last whites try and find their way to the sea'. At another meeting, Collett accused Asians of 'planned aggression against white British people'. Read more

India is the world wide champ when it comes to outsourcing! In a survey of the best cities to outsource to, the first seven slots go to Indian cities with - hold your breath - New Delhi - my home - leading the way!! And what is the primary reason for that? Here is an interesting point made by the senior person of the company which did the study as per the Yahoo story. "The labour pool remains a huge advantage in India -- you don't have to spend lots of money training people up," Sabyasachi Satyaprasad, a senior director at neoIT, told reporters in New Delhi. Read more

There are success stories and then there are REAL successes! Riches dont necessarily make a person successful, contentment does! My measure for any person's success is if he/she is content with their lives? If they are then there cannot be a greater level of peace and reward for "prosperity" and riches in the normal worldly sense cannot make you happy! They never have made any body happy. There are a few who can be content and yet be prosperous no matter where they are. If someone had to send a kick-ass programmer to a place called Bhuj in the Kutch area of Gujarat, that would be a disaster.. right? Well not so for this guy who loves the clouds and hills of Bhuj and the various shades that the clouds take on! Well.. he designs various products and sites as a programmer and is doing some cutting edge work using... what else.. a BROADBAND line! THAT, friends, is the power of the internet! It has democratized success and prosperity! Read more

Here is some interesting analysis of the Google's acquisition of JotSpot. I have highlighted this point in bold that I found very interesting! Google seems to be attacking Microsoft from flanks that are totally unexpected! "What's interesting is Google spent a bunch of time recently updating Google Groups and adding some wiki features to it," said Greg Sterling, founder of Sterling Market Intelligence. "But JotSpot has a (collaborative) development platform, a bunch of applications in a nice package," as well as users and a brand, he said. "Google won't have to piece it all together from disparate parts." Read more

Here is another acquisition by Google and someone becomes rich! Well.. I guess the best way to riches is to start something real neat and hope that you get bought out by Google or Yahoo or MSN! Google has made so many young guys really rich!! JotSpot co-founder and CEO Joe Kraus announced the acquisition on a blog Tuesday morning, saying that being part of search giant Google will give JotSpot access to "world-class" data centers and engineers. Read more

Here are a few interesting paragraphs from a newsletter from Motley Fool that I just got in my mail.. kind of useful and interesting information here on the stock market: Your long-term wealth may depend on how you answer these three questions... * Of the five top makers of steel, electronics and consumer appliances, how many are based in the United States? * Since 1993, how many years was the U.S. stock market the world's top performer? * Last year, how many of the top 15 best-performing stock funds were U.S. funds? Would it surprise you to hear that the answer in all three cases is "NONE." It shouldn't. Read more
