I am visiting India and will be there for 15 days or so. I may not be able t update my blog often from there as I would travel extensively. SO please bear with me. Until I write next time... here is a joke I loved a lot from a friend's comment on Intentblog ======= One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book. Read more

Here is a script of an interesting speech by Keith Olbermann. who delivered this speech at "Ground Zero" in NYC. Half a lifetime ago, I worked in this now-empty space. And for 40 days after the attacks, I worked here again, trying to make sense of what happened, and was yet to happen, as a reporter. All the time, I knew that the very air I breathed contained the remains of thousands of people, including four of my friends, two in the planes and -- as I discovered from those "missing posters" seared still into my soul -- two more in the Towers. Read more

Dr. Deepak Chopra has written an excellent blog post with respect to desires and fulfillment of these desires as they move from the Body to higher states of consciousness. Here is the path he professes: Desires pass through four layers of manifestation:1. The desire appears in your mind.2. It is processed in the unconscious or subtle body3. It passes through collective consciousness4. It is organized cosmically in pure consciousness. I was really interested on his take of the Desires interplay in "Pure Consciousness". This is what he speaks about it: Read more

Today is the fifth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. A lot has been written and covered up during these five years. I wrote a piece on this topic "9-11: Was it REALLY a Terrorist Attack". For a person who regularly read the Indian newspapers and was aware of the ISI, Pak Army, Jehadi combine from various analysis of the different Indian intelligence analysts in various Indian news media.. there were many unanswered questions. Many! And no one seemed to answer them in any report. Finally when I posted this same blog on newsvine.com I got a response from one commenter to see this movie on Google Video. It is just awesome. It touches on those topics in detail.. and finally addresses them. A must watch! Read more

Vasistha Yoga is my favorite reading on spirituality. Here is very interesting passage where Sage Vasistha is explaining to Ram the manifestation of creation itself. If you look at the sub-atomic level in the scientific manner it all rings true! As I was thus observing creation, I had become atomic. I realised myself as a ray of light. Contemplating that alone, I had become gross. In this grossness there were the potentialities of sense experiences...I began to see. The organs through which I saw became the eyes, that which I saw became the scene (object), the fruit of this experience was sight, "when" I saw alll this became time (duration), the manner in which I saw became the method or order, "wherever" I saw became space. By conviction these became the order of creation. Read more

Lifering and three whaleboats ... Originally uploaded by asmundur. This looks like a real good picture of the harbour! The clouds and sky's colors and lighting is astonishing.. as well as the reflection on the water. Kind of dingy look - sedate.. but a dreamy one at that. Read more

Here is a performance from Shakira that was choreographed by Farha Khan - one of the top Bollywood dance directors. Honestly, I was very unimpressed. I believe Farha has done much better work and this wasnt that good at all! She starts with some Bharat Natyam type of dancing and then moves to belly dancing.. and then back.... Read more

Sleeper cells - the dormant terrorist minds who are waiting for the most opportune moment to strike but remain mingled in the population have become the most potent weapon of the world wide terrorist organizations. Here is an interesting article explaining what these "Sleeper Cells" are? Usually it consists of one to three trained and indoctrinated jehadis sent to a particular place with a deadly mission. Their CV is usually impressive from bringing in arms, ammunition and bombs, they pinpoint a target and then carry out terrorist strikes. Read more
