Opening up the plug-inarchitecture has become an important part of the strategy of Google to move ahead in the game. Yahoo has tried that with its "Widgets" and succeeded to a great extent. Now its trying it with its most popular service - the Yahoo Messenger. I feel the Yahoo Messenger is the most under-rated talking platform.. it has a free voice-mail... the ability - and great rates - to talk from PC to Phone (acquired from Dialpad) and well as a great user base from the chat era! I think this is a good move! Just recently even MSN came alive with the Windows Live Messenger. Read more

On May 15, Lt Kalia along with five jawans -- Sepoys Arjun Ram, Bhanwar Lal Bagaria, Bhika Ram, Moola Ram and Naresh Singh -- had gone for a routine patrol of the Bajrang Post in the Kaksar sector when their patrol was captured by the enemy. The remains of the two American soldiers have been found in Iraq. Apparently, they were tortured before they were killed. It is not quite apparent what kind of torture they underwent.. but it would have been fairly brutal. The military says the remains were found late Monday night by forces acting on a tip from an Iraqi civilian, who also warned of possible explosives nearby. When they retrieved the bodies, coalition forces had to carefully sidestep several bombs placed around the corpses. Read more

I have seen in Los Angeles that Kirtan - specially according to Sikh traditions is quite popular. Here is a jewish guy who has come out with a CD. Singer Durga Das performs music known as Kirtan, a form of very old call-and-response devotional music from India. But now, as Kirtan finds its way into American culture, it is evolving in unexpected ways. Part of the change is being led by a Jewish man from Philadelphia named David Newman -- or, on stage, Durga Das. Read more
