Hyundai is thinking BIG about India. Going to make it a hub for smaller cars.. I guess with a reason. That's the only country where those small cars will be bought ... and bought in large numbers.. and if these cars work in India.. they would work anywhere!! The investment it is talking is huge from a annual perspective of just one company. In fact, Hyundai has just invested in a $1 billion plant in Alabama in the US too. This company is thinking big in all regions. That is the greatest thing about the Koreans! From Hyundai to Samsung they are after the Japanese monopolies. Read more

This is an incredible story of a model from Delhi who was in Mumbai who fell into drugs.. Cocaine! Ho wit screwed her life up and how she managed to come out of it! The tale of the Indian Fashion industry it tells is sordid and sick!! Not that one needed any affirmation but it is indeed something that I could not have thought of. After more than five years in the modelling business, I can say that smoking dope is no big deal. Every other girl does it. Just hit backstage during a show and sniff the air. You can smell the thick sweet aroma of hashish all around. Read more

This is what happens when the politicians are allowed access and authority over the Institutions of higher Education!! This SOB of a guy has been throwing his weight around just out of his ego!! I am not sure if in this war of words and egos - how is the AIIMS Director placed.. or what kind of the guy he is.. but one thing is sure.. it takes heck of a lot of courage to fight the Minister in India... and this guy is doing it. All one can say is that implicitly proves his strength. Otherwise no conniving educational professional will try to roughen up feathers of a politician! Read more

The pollution is a fact of life in every city of India.. it has reduced a bit in Delhi but still it is high. This article brings home the apathy of the Indian politicians clearly. When pollution was so high in Delhi, I used say to my friends that the only way anything will happen in the city towards a cleaner environment will be when the toxic air reaches the ramparts of Rashtrapati Bhawan and the 1 Race Course Road. I guess that is what happened. The pollution reached such heights that it was unbearable almost anywhere. And the action started. Within a year, the change from normal Unleaded Petrol was made to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for the auto rickshaws and commercial buses. Read more

Broadband Access in Europe for all to become mandatory by 2010. This is going to improve the competitiveness of the area. Remember that the major telecom companies in the US are talking about monitoring and charging for the internet flow in their pipes! I am pretty sure that Europeans will not allow that kind of stuff in their area... in fact their socialist leanings will make it certain that this broadband is practically free. Now, the question is if the flow in the rest of the world is unhindered.. then how will the telecoms in the US charge for the same traffic that flows free elsewhere?? Read more
