This is a great article on Best practices in Web Design and Development! This is a VERY GOOD reference for ANY site that wants to get any visitors! # 1. Respect your visitors. Don’t try to force your visitors to read the content of your web-pages. Let them choose and decide what they want to read. For if you have someting to tell, you’ll find your listeners. Frankly, you are as good as everybody else. What would be your reaction to a dozen of pop-ups and the overflown ad blocks? My point exactly. Read more

Bush seems to have said recently " The Bush administration has issued a statement that "the doctrine of preemption remains sound." For a guy who is in the midst of one of the worst crisis of Presidential credibility that this country has faced BECAUSE of pre-emption.. to say this is just incredible! In Hindi there is a phrase "Vinash kalya Vipreet Buddhi" - (When the time for total destruction comes the intellect goes into reverse!) Pre-emption could be a useful technique if one is absolutely sure of the evidence and consequences. But here the situation is nowhere near it. In my opinion, this administration has single-handedly destroyed the future of American kids... and in a way, my personal opinion (and I can thank them for it) built the foundation for a good future for the Indian kids to come (though not a direct consequence but an indirect one!).. Read more

Here is an article on the economic future of India, China and the US. In my view, these few lines describe what is wrong with the China-US combine in the BEST possible way! The role of the United States in the world economy is to buy, he said. China had a problem in over investing, Prestowitz continued. For every dollar of GDP, China invests half, resulting in tremendous capital in manufacturing. "If you set up a plant in China, the government gives you half the capital," he pointed out. But the main buyer for the manufactured products, US, could not go on buying, he said. Read more

Video Games are not always exactly the thing that parents would want their kids to be playing on during a day... but here is an example of how it has helped this kid in going from a vegetative state to almost normal kid! Doctors pronounced Ethan Myers brain dead after a car accident dealt the 9-year-old a severe brain injury in 2002. After he miraculously awoke from a nearly month-long coma, doctors declared he would never again eat on his own, walk or talk. Read more

Ramanujam was a mathematical genius of the last century. One of the greatest if not THE greatest! Recently, it was announced that a movie would be made on him. British director Stephen Fry and India's Dev Benegal are to make a film about an Indian mathematician whose ideas underpin the digital revolution. The shooting will start in Tamil Nadu next year. Who will be there in that movie? This is what they say: Read more

Mileva Maric' was Einstein's wife who is credited by some as the main brain behind his Theory of Relativity. It is usual to discredit the big names.. some times - as in case of Thomas Edison - with some strong reason.. but in this case it seems to be a case of overenthusiasm as is shown in this article! It is significant that in relation to two instances in which Einstein uses inclusive language Maric' explicitly states in letters to her close friend Helene Kaufler that the work in question was written by Einstein. In one of these letters she adds, “You can imagine how proud I am of my darling”, and in the other, “I have read this work with great joy and real admiration for my little darling, who has such a clever head.”[11] It is evident that these are not the words of someone who made substantive contributions to the papers in question. Read more
