How has the Infinite - the Absolute - become the finite? The Absolute has become the Universe by coming through Time, Space and Causation. The world of causation works with a premise that everything occurs BECAUSE of a cause. That everything and everyone is bound to others by cause and effect. The presumption of Cause and Effect assumes the limitation of Space and Time. If we work within the paradigm of Cause and Effect then we cannot answer the question of "Who created everything?" However, we know that whatever we are subject to - can only be - at least for the time being - be answered from the perspective of Cause and Effect only! The Law of Karma functions in only that construct. However, the way to get to the Infinite is to go BEYOND the time, space and Causation. Now the question is how do we - will being subject to effects of causation free ourselves from the "eternal" links of cause and effect? Read more

At least 17 people have been killed and dozens injured by a tornado that hit the US state of Indiana. Most of the dead were in a trailer park in the town of Evansville, where mobile homes were devastated by high winds. The tornado touched down in northern Kentucky before crossing into south-western Indiana at about 0200 local time (0800 GMT). The US National Weather Service issued warnings for the area about 30 minutes before the tornado struck. Read more

Merely by going abroad a person cannot claim a status superior to that of other citizens of the country and would have to obey the orders issued by courts in India, the Delhi High Court has ruled. Dismissing a writ petition by one Rajiv Tayal challenging the constitutional validity of an order passed by the ministry of external affairs impounding his passport, a Division Bench of Justice Mukul Mudgal and Justice H R Malhotra said there was no infringement of any fundamental fights guaranteed under Articles 14 (right to equality) 19 (right to freedom) and 21 (right to life and personal liberty) of the Constitution. Read more

Ten nights of urban unrest that brought thousands of arson attacks on cars, nursery schools and other targets from the Mediterranean to the German border reached Paris where at least 28 cars were burned overnight in the French capital, government officials said Sunday. Some 2,300 police poured into the Paris region to bolster security on a restive Saturday night while firefighters moved out around the city to douse blazing vehicles. At least 918 vehicles — including those in Paris — were burned during the 10th night of violence, said the Interior Ministry's operational center tracking the violence. China and Vietnam reported new bird flu outbreaks in poultry yesterday despite massive prevention efforts, while Japan prepared to destroy 180,000 birds to stop a suspected outbreak and Thailand announced plans to distribute its own generic antiviral drug. As global jitters mounted, a meeting of ministers from 17 African nations appealed to the continent's governments to share resources, warning that migratory birds from Europe and Asia could carry the virus to their shores. ''The first birds should hit the continent in two to three weeks," said Aberra Deressa, Ethiopia's agriculture minister, at the conference in Kigali, Rwanda. Five-time champion Viswanathan Anand is one step away from making it six in a row at the Corsica Masters rapid knockout chess tournament in Bastia, France. Anand entered the final with a fluent win in the tie-breaker against Englishman Michael Adams. The tournament has a prize purse of 100,000 Euros.
