Moving in a World Transformation Without Losing Ourselves

Moving in a World Transformation Without Losing Ourselves

Our world is going through a transformation, and transformations are hard. It requires us to tear down to bone to see what is real, what holds true, and illuminate that which has been corrupted and conditioned into it. This transformation touches each of us in different ways, across the world, because we are so interconnected in different ways.

I live in the United States, the heart of turmoil right now. Yet even here, how this is touching each of us is different. Some are right in the middle of the fight, spilling over into our neighborhoods and directly impacting our lives. Others are watching it unfold, feeling hopeless and helpless without a clear direction of action. Yet we are all a part of this transformation.

Feeding the Beast

Many are feeling a mix of rage and fear. This is understandable and we feel what we feel. We have been talking a lot in Temple about the events going on. One point we all seem to agree on, is that fear and rage just feed the beast – it feeds the opposition, the energy of it, because that is what fuels it. It is how they formed it, drew people into it, and how it remains in control. It doesn’t care if the rage is against it, the emotion itself is the fuel.

They want us to feel fear and rage, because both of those extreme emotions clutter our mind. We tend to act more from impulse than carefully thought out actions. They want us to flood the streets and bring violence so they can completely take over the government without pause.

Rage is a valid emotion but it is an extreme emotion that creates mistakes. Be angry, because anger can fuel action, and action can impact outcomes. Anger gives us the same kind of fuel without the cluttered mind.

Fear is a valid emotion, but not a useful one. Fear dulls the senses, puts the body in flight-or-fight, and dulls the rational thought. It will have you moving from panic instead of calculated and methodical actions. Fear is how they get you to willingly give over to them – your rights, your privacy, your dreams, your sovereignty – all for an illusion of safety that never comes.

Global to Local

Patheos is a world platform, not just a US one. Yet what is going on here ripples into the world. Here or there, we all are being impacted in some way and in many cases similar ways. None of us live in perfect countries or perfect democracies. When one starts to fall apart, it is an opportunity for others to take a closer look at theirs – To see what cracks exist, what is working well and what is not. To push for changes while they are small, before they end up in spaces that crumble the entirety of it. Learning from the mistakes and triumphs of each other.

The people in the US need the people in other countries. Not to stand up and fight for us, but to illuminate us. To share knowledge and ideas. To share new perspectives and ways of thinking. At some point we will be building from the bones, and these things will be extremely helpful in not building something that will repeat mistakes.

The United States is large, much larger than some people realize. We are a blending of states, each with their own history, culture, landscapes, and resources. I have always held one thing to be true of us, no matter what else happened, and that is we are a Melting Pot. We are a nation that only exists because of our diversity and grow through that diversity.

Yes, we have a part of the population that is trying to destroy that, but it is only a part of the population, not the whole. Just like every state, every city, every town is part blue, part red, and part independent. Sometimes one side seems so loud that it feels like all, but it never is. The moment we forget that is the moment allies get left behind and we lose them. You need allies in every space because their people will listen to them in those spaces.

How to Fight

This is the question I get asked the most and one people here are wrestling with everyday: What do I do?

They feel like they need to be speaking and fighting back every waking moment. If they aren’t, other people seem to take it that they do not care. Yet, depending on where they are and where the direct action is, depends on what they can do.

Fighting back isn’t always aggressive, loud, or direct. We are not just fighting people, we are fighting ideas and ideals. We are fighting fear and conditioning that people have instilled in others. (If you have not watched the movie The Brainwashing of my Dad I highly suggest it). Fighting is not always brute force or with physical weapons – much of what we need right now is to change the perspectives and false conditionings of people which requires compassion, patience, love, and psychology. Winning a physical war is not enough if the underlying cause remains.

One thing both sides can agree upon is that our government is corrupt – it does not serve the people or interests of the people. It serves corporations, money, and its own self interest. It is also not just the US. Many countries around the world have been protesting their own governments for the same reasons. Our governments have forgotten that they do not exist without the people.

It is a place to start. Common ground.

How You Fight

How you fight will depend on where the fighting is. If it is at your door – in your local community – states away – or countries away – is going to depend on how you fight and what the action of it is.

The one weapon we all possess and can use no matter where the front line is, is our Voice. We can use our voice to attack the opposition or to empower our side. We can use it to inform and educate. We can use it to illuminate and change perspective. The vibrations within our voice have the ability to alter and shape the matter of this world.

How we use our voice is just as important as how we act. Think carefully on your words, how they convey your message, what energy they are forming and pushing into the world – the same as we do with our magical intentions.

Magic in War

There are magical users on both sides of a war. This has been true throughout history, no matter how might like to believe they don’t. Just because someone on tiktok is saying witches can’t be on the right, doesn’t mean they aren’t.

Much of what I see people sharing are hexes and curses against the other side. Baneful magic born from rage and fear – feeding the beast. Like energy likes like energy – the emotion attached can dull the intention. I am not saying all baneful magic is like this – just what I am seeing concerning this. I am also not saying baneful magic against specific targets are worthless – that has been a mode of magic for ages.

I and many others are taking a different approach though. Instead of attacking with magic, we are empowering our side. Doing spellwork that is enhancing their actions, weaving protections around them, and more “boon” magic. The magic we are directing at the opposition is illumination oriented: For the people to see through the illusions their talking heads are weaving. For the lies to be exposed and laid bare for all to see clearly. For them to find the humanity they once possessed (because we are not born with hate and prejudice).

Each of us will have to find what works for us, our kind of magic, our connections, and that align with our own personal morals and ethics. There more aligned with our energy, the more powerful the magic.

What We Fight For

One aspect we touched upon but did not expand upon is the “constant” fight. If we are always in fight mode – if we are allowing ourselves to be consumed by this, then what we shape after it is done will not be whole.

It is hard for this not to encompass our thoughts and emotions. If you are on the front lines, this is even harder. It can not be the whole of us though. We can not lay aside everything else and only focus on the fight – because when we do, we lose ourselves in it, we forget what we are fighting for. We can never forget the reasons and the life we are fighting for.

Balance in everything.

We need to share the positive things in our life. Feed the good energy in our life. Search and find the joyful moments that appear everyday if we look. Keep hope and love alive in your mind, your heart, and your life.

If our words are always aggressive, then what we breed is aggression. If we are only speaking negative, then we birth only negative. We hold our ground, we can change this world, through positive actions and words just as we can through negative – but where it comes from will shape where it goes afterwards. It can’t be just one side – this transformation requires both.

It feels surreal at times to put out articles, videos, words, that are spiritual or uplifting with the state of our country and world. I get it. I feel it. People are being murdered in our streets. People are being black-bagged and disappeared. It feels like Democratic politicians are doing nothing but telling people to stand up instead of using whatever power they have to disrupt as much of this as they can. To write about self transformation, growth, and love can seem disconnected – but it isn’t. It is strength, and strength given to those who are feeling hopeless. Transformation of the self is vital in this because it is clearing away all the illusions and falsehoods that others have spun into us, that has created this divide. It is the healing that will be required to build something better and without the corruption and mistakes that have led us here.

All of this has shown us the cracks, the problems, the places were corruption can grow. We are learning and seeing clearly the cycle and repeating patterns that keep leading us here. This is our opportunity to do something different – to create something better. The bones are still good. The bones can still help us and we can stand upon them for strength. It is what we layered, and how we layered on top of them that has brought us to this point. This is true of our outer world and the one within us.

Transformation is never easy. It requires both destruction and creation. The destruction is hard, overwhelming, and breaks us. The creation is rooted in hope, love, and healing. They happen separately and at the same time because it is not just one thing, it is the whole that is being torn to bone and reshaped, so have grace for yourself and others through it – because this is a world transformation, being done together.

For You

If you are too overwhelmed to engage in your normal practices – don’t. Do the things that make sense for you. Focus your magic on yourself – courage, empowerment, clarity, insight. If you have a spiritual ritual, like daily prayer but are struggling – get a drink, sit down, and just talk to your Deity about everything going on right now, how you are feeling.

If you are new and just coming to this path (magical or spiritual) look around and find people who resonate with you or your current interest. I suggest here or on youtube just to tamper down the overload. Connect to something – starting small – perhaps just one element, like water and dive deep into it, immerse yourself into it, finding your way of connecting and working with it. If you want something more structured and focused on self development and empowerment you can always check out the Personal Pathway course.

Balance in everything. We are in chaos, so find your center, your calm, and your power.
