Pelagius Makes a Comeback in the Episcopal Church

Pelagius Makes a Comeback in the Episcopal Church October 24, 2011

Now maybe its me, perhaps I’m a far right wing whacko, but I get the feeling that in the USA, The Episcopal Church seems to be filled with more fruitcakes than a Christmas party and more nuts than Brazil. As proof of this, what I call exhibit ‘Z’, is the recent intention of the Rev. Benno D. Pattison to reinstate Pelagius at the next Diocese of Atlanta meeting. Read about it here. Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up!

There are two problems here (well, only two I’ll mention). 1. Who in their right mind would think that Pelagius is, theologically speaking, good, desirable, and commendable? 2. Who in their right minds presumes to have the singular authority to reinstate him?

Don’t these people know that the rest of the world is laughing at them?
