I had always hoped that one day, somewhere, I would find a proverb in Jewish literature which states that a mother-in-law is a “thorn” in a man’s side. That would be proof that Paul’s complaint in 2 Cor 12:7 (“To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me”) was really him whining about his own mother-in-law.
Well, looks like a better option has come up, Sponge Bob Square Pants.
