Thesis 5: You’ll Never Understand Rom 7:7-25 Unless You’ve Seen Les Miserables

There’s an amazing line in Les Miserables where Jean Valjean says, “I remember those nineteen years, a slave of the law.” Perhaps Rom 7:7-25 is meant as a speech-in-character, where the character now realizes with the hindsight of faith the futility of their life under the law, leading only to slavery in sin, which in turns gives way to an anthem of thanksgiving and praise to Jesus Christ as Saviour!

Gotta watch Valjean’s Soliloquy!
