Summer season is now in full swing. If you’re in college, that means a few months of down time. What are you going to do before class picks up again?

If you’re like most students, you’ll be looking for a job. Whether you need the money to help pay for tuition, want some extra cash to hang out with friends, or get a heard start on saving and investing for the future, here are ten jobs you can do to immediately.

Tutor

Are you a caring person who works well with people? What better way to reinforce what you’ve learned in class than by teaching it to others?

Whether it’s Calculus, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or Accounting, if you have the subject expertise, you can find work locally.

Blog

Everybody seems to be blogging nowadays in one way or another. If you have a blog but aren’t earning as much money from it as you’d like, then writing for another blog is a great way to earn extra money.

Intern

If you’d like to work in the corporate world after you’re done with school, getting an internship is a great way to show your future employers what you’re able to do. They’ll see your daily work habits, and if you do a great job, they can be source for a letter of recommendation in the future. Better yet, they may want to hire you themselves after you graduate!

SEO Consultant

Businesses understand the importance of having an online presence in order to compete in the digital age. Are you good at performing keyword research, linkbuilding, and using sites like Google Analytics? If you know how to get websites optimized for the web and increase traffic, companies will want to hire you.

Graphic Design

Can you create professional-looking invitations, flyers, postcards and presentations? Are you good with PowerPoint and Photoshop?  If you have a creative flair, this is a good way to express that trait. Plus, it’s a perfect part time job for college students because you can work at your own pace if you do independent design work.

Administrative

Are you a jack of all trades person who is reliable? Do you have experience filing, scanning, faxing, writing emails, and handling phone calls?

You may also be asked to run a few simple errands, so you might need to have your own car.

Housecleaner

Don’t mind rolling up your sleeves to make things squeaky clean? All you need to do this job are your own cleaning supplies. Things you’ll be asked to clean include carpets, kitchen floors, dishes, bathrooms, and laundry.

Babysitter

Do you like caring for children? Can you provide a safe and nurturing environment for them to live in? If you have reliable transportation, you shouldn’t have too much difficulty finding a gig.

Mover

Are you a strong, active person who owns a truck or van? Help others by packing and moving furniture. Most of the time, this work is done during evenings and weekends, so availability during those times is important.

Sell Your Junk

Have old textbooks you don’t need anymore? Used DVDs or video games that are still in good condition? If so, you can sell all sorts of things that you no longer use.

Someone else out there in the world is likely to want it. Check out sites like Craigslist, Ebay, or Bookscouter as avenues for getting rid of your stuff.
