About

I started this column because I felt led to share the steps I’ve taken in my faith journey since being called back to Christ, after a long absence, in the fall of 2020. It’s a tough time to be a human – we’re living through unprecedented crises that make the future seem less certain by the day. Yet despite it all, we’ve already been equipped with everything we need to begin the work of restoring ourselves, our neighbors, and our ailing planet: the unfailing grace of Jesus Christ.

I sincerely believe that if self-professed Christians turn toward that grace and practice our religion not as an in-group identifier but as the prophet Micah instructed – to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God – we can redeem this beautiful world that our Creator called “very good.” I hope that what you find here is spiritually nourishing and moves you to loving action.

When I’m not thinking about our fraught relationship with divinity, I’m writing fantasy and horror fiction, often with a spiritual dimension. Find all my work here. Reach out to me at mpa.author@gmail.com with your questions, comments, and dad jokes.
