‘Trishna’ Is a Hindu Retelling of ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’

Indian actress Freida Pinto stars in Trishna, a modern retelling of Tess of the D’Urbervilles set against the Hindu caste system. I’m a big Thomas Hardy fan, and I think the trailer looks compelling. It’s out in theaters on July 13 and will begin airing on the IFC channel the following week.
