How Can Christians Support the Godless Immorality of Trump?

When reading, “Why a Christian SHOULD Vote for Donald Trump to be President,” I felt sick; literally sick to my stomach. And I still don’t understand how Christians can support the godless immorality of Donald Trump.

I was hoping for insight into why Christians like Al Baker support Trump.

But, alas, there was no insight, just bad writing, poor reasoning, deflection and distraction, not unlike Trump’s entire career.

What was missing—painfully, obviously, missing— is any Biblical justification for supporting the unbiblical Trump. This is because there is no Biblical justification for supporting Trump.

The post isn’t a Biblical or Christian explanation of why Christians should support Trump – it’s a rehashing of debunked lies and attacks against Democrats reverberating in the right-wing echo chamber.

What’s missing is Jesus.

The Bible is missing. Scripture is missing.

Grace, hope, and love is missing from Baker’s post, just as it’s missing from the hearts of Trump and his supporters.

A note to non-Christians: “Why a Christian SHOULD Vote for Donald Trump to be President,” doesn’t reflect the message of Jesus.

Some American Christians spend their lives in an insulated, insular Christian cocoon, where political affiliation, the economy, guns, and self-identity combine to be more important than the Jesus they claim to follow.

Jesus is not about political affiliation, the economy, guns, or self-identity.

Identity Christians have so filled their hearts, churches, media and thoughts with abortion, the economy, guns and the American flag, that there’s no room left for Jesus. They’ve bought into the false argument that democrats can’t be Christians and Christians can’t vote for democrats.

Trump isn’t a democrat, the false narrative reasons, democrats can’t be Christians, therefore Christians must support Trump, despite his obvious profane, unchristian and godless behavior and policies.

This politicizing of Christianity has damaged both Christianity in the United States and the health of the country itself. As churches have embraced this form of American pseudo-Christianity, their children have rushed for the doors. The American pseudo-Christians created their own culture with radio stations, universities and political candidates, representing “God, Guns, and Trump.”

But not Jesus.

The message of Trump Christians is not the message of Jesus.

And now when the most antichrist candidate in the history of the United States runs for office, the best that American pseudo-Christians can say is, “at least he’s not Hillary Harris.”

“The mouth speaks what the heart is full of,” Jesus says in Matt. 12:34-35. “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.”

People like Trump have been invading churches and fooling Christians since before the Bible was written.

“For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.” – Jude 1:4

Trump is everything the Bible says is ungodly and immoral.

The Bible doesn’t change. God doesn’t change and Jesus was very clear in what evil looks like. It looks like the life and career of Trump.

Repeatedly, the Bible tells us that good people don’t align themselves with bad people.

Supporting an immoral liar doesn’t change the liar’s morality, it reveals yours.
