My Self-published Breakthrough Book is Proving the Mainstream Media Emperor is Naked 2015-03-12T17:42:18-06:00

My self-published breakthrough book  And God Said, “Billy! exploring the roots of American religious delusion, and offering another way to approach true spirituality, is getting the best reader reviews of any of my dozen books–

79 Amazon reviews so far, 100s of emails…

But…

because it’s self-published (a first for me I’m trying as an experiment) it isn’t getting any mainstream reviews, notwithstanding I’ve had NY Times bestsellers, been reviewed everywhere, and have been profiled in the Times, interviewed on Fresh Air, the BBC, been on Oprah and so on and on….

So will the last print publisher please turn out the lights for the last newspaper that’s ignoring the future? How long do you guys think you can ignore the new media and survive?

I have news for the book powers that be: With an online blogger’s/ social media footprint, I don’t need you. And thank God for MSNBC, who have me on with or without the print media’s approval to talk about my self-published book.

Does the emperor have any clothes?

Thank you Amazon.com for liberating me!

And: Hey, Jeff Bezos, now that you own the Washington Post (they rave-reviewed my last print book but not this one) how about you break ranks with the print snobs stuck in the 19th century and review the self-published book of mine your selling like hotcakes on Kindle for $3.99? ?

Frank Schaeffer is a writer. His latest book — And God Said, “Billy! exploring the roots of American religious delusion, and offering another way to approach true spirituality, is on Kindle, iBook and NOOK for $3.99, and in paperback.
