Advent: Joy

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

When I started these posts back in early November, I was getting excited about advent and Christmas. After all it is my favorite time of the year. However, as the weeks went on, things kept happening that chipped away at my joy for the season. Then fast forward to last week when we received some pretty devastating news, which has left me feeling nothing other than anger, and maybe sadness.

I still have hope in how things can be and what the advent season is, but today, and the rest of the season, I’m taking a step back. So, that said, have a great holiday season, and I’ll be posting again after the new year.
