World Book Day
Also known as World Book and Copyright Day or International Day of the Book, is an annual event organized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. The first World Book Day was celebrated on 23 April 1995 and continues to be recognized on that day.

Today’s Recipe is from my cookbook Good Thyme Gal Cookbook For Friends and Family. It is Sesame Cucumber Salad, whether you store it for the next day or eat it the same day, it is delicious and refreshing. Happy Eating!
Sesame Cucumber Salad Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 thinly sliced cucumbers
- 1 Tablespoon salt
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2-3 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
- 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Cooking Directions
- Place cucumbers in a colander. Set the colander on a plate.
- Sprinkle cucumbers with salt and toss. Let stand 30 minutes.
- Rinse and drain well.
- In a bowl, combine onions, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, oil, sesame seeds and cayenne.
- Add cucumbers and toss to coat.
- Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve
- Serving: 8-10
