Either Side of the Cross

Either Side of the Cross October 8, 2014

Cross with Thorns - image1-259x300In the ancient world and in this brave new one, Jesus hangs on a tree, a God who bleeds and a sinless man. He hangs there from the foundation of the world and through every passing age.

To one side, looking on, are those who deny God, or who worship gods they fashion, or who seek a life for themselves apart from the Love that fashioned them.

On the other side, the leaders of churches, synagogues, mosques, and still yet other purveyors of systems of thought and action, true believers who are certain they know the method by which humanity can reconcile itself to God.

Naturally both sides are at war with each other, drawn together for a moment to reject Love and with vehemence kill God and the One person who is truly human.

As in Rome, so today. The conflict rages on. Behold all the Christians who take up arms to join the fray.

And in the center the Creator as Man yet seeks to reconcile the whole world to himself by self-giving crimson charity.
