People are searching for something to inspire and give them hope. Are you? Today, I would suggest that Yeshua is the answer to all life’s problems. Yeshua is the only one who can provide true peace, hope, forgiveness, and deliverance. Today I want to share my search for Yeshua and the different paths people have taken in search of Yeshua. I have followed and believed in Jesus Christ for as long as I can remember. Yeshua is the Hebrew name for Jesus Christ. My parents gave me to the Lord as a baby. I have been sprinkled twice and baptized once. My baptism occurred at age 9. If you have not given your life to Yeshua and are struggling with this thing we call life, consider it.
About Yeshua
In his book “Yeshua in Context,” Derek Leman addresses Yeshua’s life and applicability to us. Leman posits: “What is the Kingdom which Yeshua said was near? There are indications from later stories about Yeshua that the calling of disciples was not just for his own time. The disciples were to pass down the call to others and pass it on from generation to generation.” Yeshua is known as the Jewish Messiah. However, Yeshua came to save all mankind. Yeshua is our hope and deliverer. As it is written in Romans 1:16, (CJB): “For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God’s powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile.”
Messianic Judaism
Biblebasedliving.com states: “Messianic Judaism is a movement that combines Jewish traditions with the belief in Jesus as the Messiah. This blend of Jewish customs and Christian beliefs sets it apart from traditional Christianity.” Also, Jewish identity and Jewish roots are emphasized in the writing. Faithbasedliving.com concludes that “this balance of faith and tradition sets Messianic Judaism apart from traditional Christianity.”
Christianity
Christian believers subscribe to the divine nature of Jesus Christ and believe in the Trinity which comprises the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Most Christian churches do not observe the Jewish customs and traditions. Growing up as a Baptist, Jewish customs were not an integral part of our services. Most churches still do not observe Jewish traditions and holidays. However, Messianic Christians and Messianic Jews observe the Jewish traditions and customs in their services.
The path
Is there a right or wrong denominational path? I contend there is not. It does not matter what denomination you are, but that you believe in and follow the Jewish Messiah Yeshua also called Jesus Christ. What matters is finding and having a personal relationship with Him.
My Testimony
At 9, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. I did not know His Hebrew name at the time. My life has had many twists and turns. Sound familiar? While I have not always followed Jesus from a Messianic perspective, I have always believed in Him. Observing the Jewish holidays, traditions, and customs has enriched my life. I discovered Messianic Judaism at a book signing I was doing in Wichita Falls, Texas. Dee Linden purchased one of my books and invited me to the Texoma Messianic Fellowship. Her daughter, Christine Walker, the Congregational Leader, authored a book entitled “Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth.” I could not put the book down. I became obsessed with learning more about Yeshua from the Hebraic roots. It was there that I gained knowledge of Jesus from a Messianic perspective.
Now, Not Later
In my book, “Live Inspired, Not Bound! For Such a Time as This,” I speak to the urgency of our relationship with Him and opine: “In our final hour, our life is in the hands of the Master, our Messiah, Yeshua. Give yourself to Yeshua the Christ today.” Friends, I suggest today that what matters is your relationship with Him. Try Yeshua!
