Vacation planning?

So I just thought I’d throw this out there:

We’re very behind in our summer vacation planning (late July/early August). The thought is that the corvette plant in Bowling Green has a minimum age of 7 for its factory tours, which means this is the first year our youngest son is old enough to do this. So our itinerary includes:

Mammoth cave
Corvette plant tour
The Parthenon (in Nashville)

But we’re clueless about how to round this out and where to stay; I had hoped to find some kind of cabin/cottage rental in the surrounding area, even on a farm, but there doesn’t seem to be much there, and I’m not especially excited about staying in a generic hotel, or over-paying. I used to like the idea of a Bed & Breakfast until I learned that they’re really only for couples, not families.

So anyway — if you have any suggestions (or can share this with someone who has a suggestion), I’d be grateful!
