Animals as Angels in Disguise

Animals as Angels in Disguise

“Then the Lord God said to the serpent: Because you have done this, you are cursed more than any livestock and more than any wild animal. You will move on your belly and eat dust all the days of your life. I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Genesis 3:14–15, HCSB)

In the beginning, animals could talk. They also could roam the Earth. They also could be inhabited by angels. I deduce this from the fact that however the shape of the serpent before the fall, it is a snake at the end. I also deduce this by the fact that the serpent actually spoke to Eve. Eve knew who the serpent was at the beginning of the conversation. She also was willing to listen to him. So Satan disguised Himself as a serpent to seduce her.

What was this seduction? The serpent (an angel in disguise) asked Eve to “touch” the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. What is going on here? Well, the tree of life is Jesus. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is Satan. Why is that so? Because Jesus is always about life. He brings life. However, Satan wants to take you out and lead you to death. The way to do that is to urge you to discover something more attractive than life. What is more attractive than life? The “knowledge” between the difference between good and evil. If I know what is good and what is evil, then I can make life on my own without God’s help.
