God’s returning Kingdom will be ruled by the right PERSON: Jesus (He is both human and divine.) (11:1-2)
Jesus comes from the same “stump” as David.
“Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.” (Isaiah 11:1, HCSB)
Jesus is filled with the Holy Spirit
“The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him — a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength, a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.” (Isaiah 11:2, HCSB)
God’s returning Kingdom will have a PURPOSE. (11:3-5)
Jesus will restore everything back to God.
“but He will…He will…He will…Righteousness will be a belt around His loins; faithfulness will be a belt around His waist.” (Isaiah 11:4–5, HCSB)
God’s returning Kingdom will establish His PEACE. (11:6-9)
“None will harm or destroy another on My entire holy mountain, for the land will be as full of the knowledge of the Lord as the sea is filled with water.” (Isaiah 11:9, HCSB)
God’s returning Kingdom will institute a PROGRAM to fulfill that peace. (11:10-12)
The nations will seek Him
“On that day the root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples. The nations will seek Him, and His resting place will be glorious.” (Isaiah 11:10, HCSB)
God will gather His people
“On that day the Lord will extend His hand a second time to recover—from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the coasts and islands of the west—the remnant of His people who survive.” (Isaiah 11:11, HCSB)
God’s returning Kingdom will reveal a PATHWAY for people who want to have that peace. (11:13-16)
“There will be a highway for the remnant of His people who will survive from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.” (Isaiah 11:16, HCSB)
