Leadership Excuses We Give God
Leadership Excuses We Give God is a simple thought Lectionary reflection on the excuses we give God not to lead other people that He called us to.

Exodus 4:1-17
There are many people whom God is asking to lead others in His work. God draws people whom He thinks are qualified to lead others. Whether it be a church planter, Sunday School teacher, pastor, or ministry leader, God seeks out those whom He wants to use to help lead His people.
Moses is continuing his excuses from the previous chapter. He insists that the people won’t listen to him because they will doubt God’s leading in Moses’ life (Exodus 4:1).
God shows Moses that He can take care of our leadership credentials if we would trust Him (Exodus 4:2).
Moses gives the excuses of (1) showing doubt (Exodus 4:1), (2) being dumb (Exodus 4:10-11), and (3) being different (Exodus 4:13).
Many of us don’t want to lead, like Moses. We have our excuses. We may show doubt, or say we are dumb or complain that we are different. But the fact is that God wants to use you because He made you. He wants to take what He gives you and help you influence other people around you. You don’t have to make excuses with God. He can take care of everything.
Prayer: God, help me overcome my excuses and learn to trust You. Help me lean on Your leadership and You help me lead others.
