In response to the accidental overlap of Easter celebrations and Trans Visibility Day, Republican Presidential candidate Donald J. Trump recently proclaimed that the day he is elected President would become “Christian Visibility Day.”

I’m sure you’ve been dreaming of such a day, too, my friends.

The day when Christians can finally pray openly in public at a restaurant with their families – out loud – without fear.

The day that Christians can wear the symbols of their faith around their necks or on a t-shirt without being harassed.

The day when our places of worship are visibly prominent on nearly every other street corner in America.

The day when our Sacred Scriptures can be found in every hotel room across the nation and used with honor in court rooms, and even in Washington D.C. as a document so Holy that people must swear to tell the truth upon it before giving testimony.

Imagine…the day when Christian Holy Days can be openly celebrated…when schools are closed and businesses shut down to honor our sacred traditions.

Imagine…when people can pray before football games and meet in coffee shops to study the Bible without fear of being attacked.

How beautiful it will be when Christians in this country can finally share literature at shopping malls with others who may or may not even be interested in learning about our faith?

When, oh when, will the endless persecution of Christians in America finally come to an end so that we can pass laws that favor our religious convictions?

When will our clergy and places of worship be free from the tyranny of taxation by our oppressive government?

When will Christian schools be free to teach Creation and talk about how the dinosaurs were on the Ark with Noah?

Oh…I know I’m a dreamer.

But, one day…perhaps sooner than we think, American Christians might finally rise up and throw off the shackles of religious persecution.

Then, on that day, my friends, we can all join hands together and sing, “Thank God Almighty, we’re free at last! Free at last!”

Until then, we will find the strength to soldier on…somehow.

Stay strong, my brothers and sisters.

Freedom is coming.

One day.
