“Truth came into their midst and all its bounty knew it” (13:1)

The promise of the coming of Truth is what we want to talk about now.

When Truth comes into our presence, we know it. We welcome it. We realize that the Truth is a person that has always been with us and will never forsake us. A being whose presence is the One in whom we all live and move and have our being. The One whom we can never become separate from. The Father. The Unknowable One who will come and has come and will always be with us.

This “coming” isn’t about spatial movement. It’s about a shifting of our perspectives and a realization within us. This knowing, and this coming, and this awareness is what changes everything, even though nothing has changed except our awareness of what has always been.

When this happens, what we experience is love.

“For everyone loves Truth, because Truth is the Father’s mouth, his tongue the Holy Spirit. Whoever clings to the Truth clings to the Father’s mouth and by his tongue will receive the Holy Spirit.” (v. 3-4)

The language here is intentionally intimate. Almost uncomfortably so. But this intimacy is all about spiritual connection with the God who is Love and those who are made in this same image of Love cannot help but become intimately aware of this connection that transcends physical identity and surpasses all other forms of ecstasy and rapture.

We cling to the Father. We cling to His mouth. We receive the Spirit by the Father’s own tongue. We are embraced and kissed with unspeakable joy in this Oneness with Eternal Love.

“This is the manifestation of the Father and the revelation to His generations. He revealed what was hidden of Himself and made it known. For who exists if not for the Father alone? All ways are His bounty and know that they have come from Him like children in a mature person.” (v. 5-8)

We exist because God exists. Our manifestation is a manifestation of His presence. What was hidden of Himself is revealed in us, and now we have come to know it deep within ourselves. This truth resonates within us with the frequency of the Universe itself which also manifests God’s presence all around us. This presence permeates all things.

Every color, every sound, every single atom and molecule in all reality vibrates with the frequency of God who is incarnate in all things.

We are like children who awaken to discover we inhabit the bodies of mature adults. Even as the promise of maturity has been fully realized, the child within is still alive and awake. When did the childhood end and the adulthood begin? Are we not the same being we were as children? Has the adult erased the child? Has the child disappeared within the adult? Or are both alive, together, and aware of the miracle of transformation that has transpired while we were sleeping?

“(Even when) they had not yet taken form or received a name…the Father gave birth to each one, and they received (their) form through His knowledge. For though they were in Him, they did not know Him. The Father is full – He knows every way within Himself. If He desires something, that which He desires appears, and He gives it form and a name.” (v. 9-13)

We exist because the Father desires us. This is why we have appeared. This is why we have been given form and a name. This is why God “gave birth to each one” of us, even when we “had not yet taken form or received a name,” we were already alive in the imagination of God.

We were in God before we took on form, even though we “did not know Him,” and God gave us form and spoke our name out loud so that we could eventually come to know God as manifestations of His Divine presence in the world.

“(God) gives (us) a name and brings (us) into being (for we are) those who, before existing, were ignorant of the One who created us.” (v. 14)

We are One with God. We are part of God. We are loved of God. We are desired by God.

We live and move and have our being in God. We exist because of God. We will never be separated from God.

God is all and all is God.
