Dan Arel sits down with me to discuss internet privacy. While we cover topics everyone should be aware of, this conversation is especially important if you are protesting or know someone who is.
Dan Arel is an author, journalist, and privacy consultant. He maintains the site ThinkPrivacy and has had his work featured in OpenSource, Hackernoon Time, Time, Huffington Post, and more.
In 2018, Dan launched ThinkPrivacy in order to help everyday internet users have an easy to use and understand resource for choosing privacy and ethically focused apps and services. In 2019, Dan launched a new website for ThinkPrivacy and started a consulting wing of the project to help organizations take privacy more seriously, find solutions that work for them, and guide privacy focused organizations in how to reach the privacy community as a whole.
We cover topics like:
- What is the best messenger service to use?
- Why using a VPN helps secure privacy.
- How to shoot video at a protest without endangering other protesters.
I hope you find the conversation useful!
