Mississippi Passes Anti-Sam Harris Law

Mississippi Passes Anti-Sam Harris Law February 27, 2021

Sam Harris ponders whether or not he will ever step foot in Mississippi ever again.

Mississippi officially made talking about Sam Harris, the famed atheist, author, and podcaster to minors illegal. Bill A.C.A. 5-71-226, otherwise known as the Anti-Youth Subversion Act, passed both houses of the legislature by an overwhelming margin. It was signed into law by Governor Andrew Canard. Governor Canard praised the bill, and stated that he hoped that it would serve as an example for other states to emulate:

Are Americans stupid?

Today we struck a blow for religious freedom in the great state of Mississippi. For too long our children have been unprotected against the nefarious teachings of Sam Harris. I have personally talked to many concerned parents who said that they were horrified when their children told them that God is fake or that human beings are simply carbon-based robots who took orders from the D-N-A. This law puts the end of that nonsense now. Let’s pray that Mississippi will be a beacon of hope for the rest of our Christian nation.

What The Anti-Sam Harris Law States

Here is an excerpt from the statute.

Evangelicals Celebrate Traditional Morals

Evangelical leaders collectively stated the passing of 5-71-226 was a victory for traditional morality. Church bells rang out and congregations celebrated the event with old-time fervor.

Reverend Rufus T. Firefly heads the Mississippi Evangelical Victory Independent Lobby (M.E.V.I.L.). “I believe this law will prevent Sam Harris and Harris’ satanic allies from adulterating the minds of our youth with secular facts and questions. We don’t need their kind here.”
