22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
2 John 10:11
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. 11 Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.
– Jason from the podcast/YouTube channel Dragons in Genesis
Jason commented on that verse, “It tells people to reject anyone who isn’t a believer in their religion. Cast them out for they are wicked. I’ve seen this one used to reject gays, Muslims, atheists, Indians, Jews, etc.”
Leviticus 24: 19-21
19 Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner:20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury. 21 Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death.27
1 Republican 1:1
Thou shall not vote.
– Actor Tori Clay (OK, it’s not a real quote, but considering how the GOP is working to prevent many citizens from voting I felt it had to be mentioned.)
1 Samuel 18:27
Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king’s son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.
Whenever you think about how weird QAnon conspiracies are, remember that they have nothing on the Bible.
– author and photographer Pat Green
And you shall not walk in the customs of the nation that I am driving out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I detested them.
The next time you wonder “Why are evangelicals so xenophobic?” think of this verse.
37 “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
– Robert Stanley host of the show The Right to Reason
Romans 1: 26-27
Writer Barry Purcell reflected there’s also a problem with evangelicals ignore. They don’t seem to like the many times where Jesus preaches against wealth. For example, Mathew 19:21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” If more evangelicals took that seriously, then we would all be better off.
