Translation, 2 Kings 11

Now ‘Atalyah mother of ‘Achazyahu

And she saw that her son died
And she arose and she destroyed all the see of the kingdom.

And took Yehosheva’ daughter of the king Yoram sisterof ‘Achazyahu
Yo’ash son of ‘Achazyah and stole him from the midst of the sons of the king who were being caused-to-die,

Now ‘Atalyah reigning-as-queen over the land.

Now in the seventh year sent Yehoyada’

And he took the princes/chiefs of the hundreds to the Kariy and to the runners
And he caused-them-to-enter to him in the house of Yahweh.
And he cut to them a covenant
And he caused-them-to-swear in the house of Yahweh
And he caused-them-to-see the son of the king.
And he commanded them, saying,
“This the thing/word which you will do:
The third from you, those who enter the sabbath and the guardians of the guard- duty in the house of the king,
And the third in the gate of turning,
And the third in the gate after the runners,
and you shall guard guard-duty of the house alternately.
Now two hands in you, all who go forth the sabbath,
And they guard guard-duty in the house of Yahweh to the king.
And you surround the over the king all around
Each and his utensils in his hand
And the one who enters to the ranks shall be caused-to-die
And they will be with the king in his going forth and in his entering.”
And did the chiefs/princes of the hundreds according to all that Yehoyada’ the priet commanded
And they took each his men who entered the sabbath
with those who went forth the sabbath
And they entered to Yehoyada’ the priest.
And the priest gave to the chiefs/princes of the hundreds the spears and the shields
Which were to king David which [were] in the house of Yahweh.
And they stood, the runners, each and his utensils in his hand
From the shoulder of the house, the right one,
until the shoulder of the house, the left one
to the altar and to the house over the king all around.
And they caused-to-come-forth the son of the king
And they gave on him the coronet and the statute
And they caused-him-to-reign-as-king
And they anointed him
And they struck palms
And they said,
“Live the king!”

And heard ‘Atalyah the voice of the runners of the people
And she entered to the people in the house of Yahweh.
And she saw and Look!
The king standing on the standing-pillar according to the judgment
And the chiefs/princes and the trumpets to the king
And all the people of the land rejoicing and sounding on the trumpets.
And tore ‘Atalyah her garments and she cried, “Conspiracy! Conspiracy!”

And commanded Yehoyada’ the priest the chiefs/princes of hundreds,
those appointed of the strong-army and said to them,
“Cause her to go forth to from the house to the ranks
And the one who enters after her cause-to-die with the sword.”
For said the priest,
“Do not cause-to-die in the house of Yahweh.”
And they set to her the hands
And she entered the way of the entering of the horses of the house of the king
And they she was caused-to-die there.
And cut Yehoyada’ the covenant between Yahweh and between the king and between the people
to being to the people to Yahweh
And between the king and the people.

And they entered, all the people of the land, the house of the Ba’al
And they broke down its altar and its images they broke; they did well.
And Mattan the priest of the Ba’al they killed before the face of the altar.
And the priest set the appointed ones over the house of Yahweh.
And took the chiefs/princes of the hundreds and the Kariy and the runners and all the people of the land
And they caused-to-come-down the king from the house of Yahweh
And they entered the way of the gate of the runners.
And he sat on the throne of the kingdom.
And rejoiced all the people of the land and the city was quiet.
And ‘Atalyahu they caused-to-die with the sword in the house of the king.
