**Listen Linda Speaks: Celebrating Carolyn Coleman**

In the tapestry of life, we often find threads of connection woven through the hearts of special individuals. For many, there exists a person who shines brightly, a guiding light beyond the shadows. For me, that person is Carolyn Coleman, affectionately known as Mama Gentry. She embodies inspiration and blessing, a true testament to the power of friendship and love.

Mama Gentry arrived in my life at a moment when I felt adrift, when the world seemed cold and lonely. With her gentle presence, she listened more than she spoke, offering empathy and understanding. Yet, she is also the friend who isn’t afraid to check me when I need it. In today’s world, true friendship is a rare gem, and I can confidently say that Carolyn holds a solidified place in my heart.

A daughter, wife, and mother, Carolyn is a pillar of her community in Bessemer, Alabama. With a B.S. in Nursing from Samford University and an M.A. in Health Service Administration from Strayer University, she brings over 37 years of experience to the healthcare field. As a critical care nurse and nurse case manager, she has dedicated her life to caring for others, advocating for patients, and ensuring their voices are heard.

Carolyn is not just an esteemed healthcare professional; she is also a gifted author. Her literary contributions include the beloved “Gentry Series,” where the title character navigates life’s choices, reminding us all of our own journeys. In her powerful works, such as “Circle of Friends” and “Left,” she invites readers to explore themes of friendship, resilience, and the human spirit.

Moreover, Carolyn’s talents extend beyond the written word. She is an accomplished dancer, her movements filled with grace and joy, embodying the rhythm of life itself. Her leadership shines brightly as she serves on the Bessemer Public Library Trustee Board and as a Board Member for the C.H.L.M.S. Medi-Helpz Foundation, focusing on patient engagement and education. Through her efforts, she uplifts her community and inspires others to do the same.

With her podcast, “Gentry’s Journey,” Carolyn has created a platform for growth and empowerment. Engaging with a diverse array of guests—authors, entrepreneurs, community activists, and healthcare professionals—she fosters meaningful connections and inspires her listeners. Over the past year, she has built a devoted following, creating a space where stories are shared, and voices are amplified.

As we celebrate Carolyn’s birthday, let us acknowledge not only her literary achievements but also her unwavering commitment to humanitarianism. She is a beacon of hope and strength, showing us that one person can indeed make a difference.

**What Does Linda Think?**

Carolyn’s contributions extend beyond the literary realm; they resonate deeply in the world of humanitarianism. Her dedication to patient advocacy and community engagement exemplifies the grace and compassion that Maya Angelou so eloquently championed. Carolyn’s ability to listen and uplift others reflects the essence of true leadership.

Her philanthropic efforts, coupled with her literary works, create a powerful impact that inspires countless individuals. In a world that often feels disconnected, Carolyn reminds us of the importance of community, friendship, and the art of listening. As I reflect on her journey and influence, I am filled with gratitude for the light she brings to our lives. Happy Birthday, Carolyn!
