God’s Steadfast Love Endures Forever

Praise the Lord! Give thanks to God for God is good; for God’s steadfast love endures forever. (Psalm 106; read Psalm 106:1-5)
God’s steadfast love endures forever! Forever! Life is change, nations rise and fall, leaders come and go, even the Coronavirus is temporary. It will pass. But, within all things, the moral and spiritual arc of God’s presence moves, undefeated, though at times obstructed by human pretense and pride.

People often say of difficult times, “this too shall pass” or “we’ll get through this,” and they are right. But, one thing that will not fail is the ever-present, ever loving, ever active God. Inspired by Psalm 90, Isaac Watt penned:

Our God, our Help in ages past,
our Hope for years to come,
our Shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal Home….
Be thou our guide while life shall last
and our eternal Home.

We come from God’s love and return to God’s love, joining time and eternity in the everflowing stream of wise and loving creativity. Let us live faithfully trusting God’s eternal care.
