There is a Battle for Your Mind

There is a Battle for Your Mind August 26, 2019

There is one consistent truth in prayer and meditating on my word. There is a battle for your mind. Even though you seek me with your whole heart, your thoughts are going to wander off from keeping your attention on me. I encourage you to understand when your thoughts stray away; it happens to everyone. (Letting Go of the Attachments in our Minds)

Instead of being discouraged, please learn to overcome the distractions by letting go of them and refocusing your thoughts back on me. When unrelated ideas carry you away, I know you can’t change what you’re thinking at any one moment. The truth is when you try to change or control your thinking; it only stirs up more frustration as you journey down another bunny trail of mindless thoughts. (Calming My Restless Mind)

The key to victory is not trying to control your thoughts but releasing and letting go of the ideas in your mind and returning your attention to me. Don’t get down on yourself, thinking you can never keep your awareness on my will for your life. I know it is easy to become discouraged and feel like you are the only one with this kind of spiritual problem. Here is what I want you never to forget how much I love you, and I will never give up on you. I want you always to be encouraged in the battle and never become discouraged because of the frustration of the struggle going on in your mind. The contest is mine to fight with you. There is a battle for your mind that I will help you to win.

Scripture:

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Roman 12:2 NIV

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV
