QUOTING QUIVERFULL is a regular feature of NLQ – we present the actual words of noted Quiverfull leaders and ask our readers: What do you think? Agree? Disagree? This is the place to state your opinion. Please, let’s keep it respectful – but at the same time, we encourage readers to examine the ideas of Quiverfull honestly and thoughtfully.

Wow. It would not have been bad to be married to a woman who believed that. Oh, I guess it would be because then I would have to put up with numerous crazy beliefs that go along with a statement like that.

  • This reads like a backwards way of blaming anorgasmic wives, to me. “God didn’t reward you with pleasure? Well, you must not have really been submittin’ to God and your husband in your heart!”

  • Evelyn

Lived this one, all the while having friends tell me that no man wants to have sex with a woman who is just lying there enduring it. Well, my husband did. That’s what finally forced me to leave the marriage, being used in such an intimate way. And make no mistake, I was not rewarded with pleasure.

This quote ignores the 2nd half of 1 Corinthians 7:4

  • Mary

What complete bull. COmmunication, unslefishness by both parties, and a healthy demanding of what we need (as well as medical intervention should we need it) will be rewarded with pleasure.

Well, yeah, and you’d also never be sure if your wife really wanted to have sex with you or if she were just “obeying God.” I mean, presumably, that matters to you…right?

  • Bill S

Of course it matters. I was just being facetious. I think these Quiverfull women are brainwashed. In fact, I personally believe that a lot of religious people are brainwashed. More than what most people are willing to admit.
