Quoting Quiverfull: Outdoing Your Husband Why?

Quoting Quiverfull: Outdoing Your Husband Why? November 19, 2014

toxicby Nancy Campbell from Above Rubies – Marriage Box

Different day. Same tune. Like a broken record.

You may feel you are getting nothing out of your marriage and that can tend to self-pity. But this doesn’t help the situation.

Even though you don’t feel like it, begin pouring into your marriage. Outdo your husband in loving, blessing, and ministering to him.

It will boomerang back.

QUOTING QUIVERFULL is a regular feature of NLQ – we present the actual words of noted Quiverfull leaders, influential bloggers and cultural enforcers and ask our readers: What do you think? Agree? Disagree? This is the place to state your opinion. Please, let’s keep it respectful – but at the same time, we encourage readers to examine the ideas of Quiverfull and Spiritual Abuse honestly and thoughtfully.

Have an unappreciative husband who doesn’t help raise his kids, help clean up his own messes, expects you to show love and devotion towards him while being unwilling to show the same for you? Well just do more! Clean more! Work harder with the children, you slothful whore! Do you want them to grow up to be liberal feminist humanistic heathens? DO YOU?!? Then suck it up, Harlot and when your husband gets home and the kiddies are in bed, you give him a blow job and maybe he’ll let you get some sleep tonight. Do you not know that submission boomerangs back to love and appreciation? Well it doesn’t, but be submissive anyway.

  • “It will boomerang back.”

Is that a guarantee? What if you have a narcissist for a husband who just continues to take, and take, and take? Where do you draw the line?

  • ShinyZubat

I think “slothful whore” is my new favorite insult. There’s just something about the way that sounds.

  • That’s where the phrase “Offer it up” comes in.

I think it’s Christianese for “I don’t want to hear about your problems because they might force me to admit that adding Jesus doesn’t magically make everything alright and do away with all problems. And, if I do that, I may actually obligated to have to offer some form of real help or advice, and that takes effort and might make me uncomfortable”.

  • Trollface McGee

Speaking of slothful.. well, maybe not whores

  • SLOTHS ARE SO CUTE!!!!!!!! *huggles the beady-eyed fuzzies*

Do you want them to grow up to be liberal feminist humanistic heathens?

    Fortunately, my parents did!

  • Trollface McGee

They’re even cute when the poop… hell, they’re especially cute when they poop.

Animal Planet had a whole Too Cute Sloth special, which was waaaay too adorable.

  • Anonyme

How ’bout a boomerang to the head, Nancy? >:P

  • katiehippie
  • B.A.

So did mine! (even though in my family we still practice Judaism, but not an extreme form)

  • lodrelhai

Woah, major departure for Nancy. She’s actually allowing a wife to outdo her husband in something!

But won’t that completely crush his sense of self-worth?

  • ConcepcionImmaculadaPantalones

Not whores?! Did you watch the video?! That slut Samantha had to be taken out of the cage and put elsewhere so she wouldn’t get knocked up again! That hussy has been having too many unwanted sloth babies! (I guess the true christians aren’t as interested in rescue adopting sloths….) And then there’s that trampy Darla – you just know that the fellas went her way once Samantha was out of the picture! Sloth porn threeway! lol!

  • Baby_Raptor

Nah. It’s something he doesn’t want to be doing anyway and besides, cleaning, raising kids, ETC…That’s women’s work!

  • Baby_Raptor

You may feel you are getting nothing out of your marriage and that can tend to self-pity. But this doesn’t help the situation.

It would lead some people to leave the situation. To most people, that’s “help.” To these folks it’s the worst possible thing.

  • Trollface McGee

    Slowest threeway in history 😀

  • Saraquill

How often does Campbell talk about her husband again?

  • KarenH

I think she means, you should love, bless and support him more than he loves, blesses and supports himself. And obviously,t he reason is because Patriarchy = God-Approved Narcissism.

  • BlueVibe

This is like an extreme and terrible interpretation of the saying, “Worrying is like rocking–it’s something to do but it won’t get you anywhere.”

“Put all your energies and more into the behaviors that are already not getting you the fulfillment and appreciation you seek; just don’t do anything that might actually effect change.”

  • ConcepcionImmaculadaPantalones

    Hey Nancy, DUCK.

I hope she moves pretty fast because she’ll get a boomerang to the back of her head otherwise.

  • ConcepcionImmaculadaPantalones

Hey, slowest threeway ever doesn’t make it any less of a threeway!

Those lady sloths are slores. Even if the men-sloths take like…half a day to just get started traveling across the yard to their ladyfriends.

  • Trollface McGee

Lmao for slores! Best new word ever.
And those boys are persistent… it may take them a week to get to the ladies but they’ll get there… eventually!

If “boomerang back” translates from the original Aramic into “blow up like a meth lab” then yes, I guess that’s good advice. I have been pouring into my marriage for thirty six long years. A more realistic adage would be “if you lay down with dogs, you will get fleas.”
