Quoting Quiverfull: Keep Your Children From Worldly Temptation? March 9, 2015

quotingquiverfullby Nancy Campbell from Above Rubies – Can You Do It?

Editor’s note: One thing you can count on from Nancy Campbell, she stays consistently on message. Too bad her message is always ‘You are not a good enough mother unless you are doing all the things I outline’ which, in my mind, translates to something close to ‘The beatings will continue until morale improves’ Yeah, like that works.

I think of Noah who in the midst of corruption and violence raised children who refused to succumb to the temptations of evil around them (Genesis 6:9-13 and Hebrews 11:7).

We are raising our precious children and grandchildren in the midst of widespread deception, evil, and corruption where abortion is considered normal and homosexuality is being promoted as a “normal” lifestyle. Judgment is turned backward and justice stands afar off (Isaiah 59:13-15). But as you seek God for the anointing of His Holy Spirit to mother and train your children, to daily fill them with God’s Word, and to pray fervently for them, you can also raise righteous young men and women who will not be lured by the deceptions of the father of lies. You can train godly children who will not be tempted by the gods of this world, but will stand true to the God of the Bible.

Nancy, that Noah you reference? Would that be the Noah whose son Ham so completely violated his father’s privacy that Noah cursed Ham’s son Canaan and all his progeny with eternal slavery? That Noah?

Because I’m thinking he was far less successful than you’re claiming.

One of my favorite professors was gay, and he taught me more through example about how to *truly* treat others and express kindness. And Nancy Campbell and Co., what are they doing? They’re all like the cup and saucer presenting themselves as clean and wonderful, but on the inside (typo, accidentally wrote ‘outside’ at first) they’re hateful, judgmental harpies.

The aforementioned professor passed away suddenly two years ago, cause of death unknown. At the time I’d secured a job at the same college, and it was hard to know I’d never pass him on campus and say “good morning” or stop by his office just to say hello. And this is something Nancy and her ilk will never, ever understand.

  • What part of free moral agent doesn’t she comprehend? Some of the Bible’s greatest success stories were some of the Bible’s worst sinners. Just look at David.
