Answering “Preparing To Be A Help Meet” – What To Do With My Life?

Answering “Preparing To Be A Help Meet” – What To Do With My Life? April 11, 2015

AnsweringAnother installment of giving better answers to the questions asked at Debi Pearl’s site message board for the book ‘Preparing To Be A Help Meet’. Many young ladies ask questions on all sorts of different subjects brought up by the book. There was just one big problem, many of the answers stray into either the outright bad and emotionally unhealthy to dangerous. Yes, typical Debi Pearl borderline abusive. Here’s what we’re going to be doing here at NLQ. Every week, once or twice a week, I’ll be posting up one of the questions from the message board and ask you, our readers, to answer that poor soul’s question in a way that is logical, rational and the best possible solution, in other words 180 degree turn from Nancy and friends answers. As always all spelling and grammar in the posting is unchanged from the original author.

Hey everyone, I graduated high school this past year. Since then I have worked odd jobs and I am also a caregiver 2 hours everyday. However, I feel like I am just going through the motions of living life without “living it”. I feel like my life is passing me by and I’m not doing anything that will have lasting results. I have always dreamed of being a maternal nurse but I can’t afford college. I also am in a relationship with an amazing Christian guy and I hope to marry him someday, but I want to do more with my life than get married and have children. Am I being ridiculous? Does anyone else feel the same way as me? I need some advice on what I can do. I still live at home and I am kind of restricted for the time being. I am always bored and I try to find as many things to do to keep myself active, I really hate doing nothing. What can I do? I am at my whits end.
The answers she was given are mostly start a home business. One brave soul said she should go to college and get that nursing degree. Someone else told her to volunteer at places like “Cris pregnancy center”. More education might be the best thing she could do, what do you think? How would you answer this question?
