NLQ Question of the Week – How Can I Best Help My Daughter or Son?

NLQ Question of the Week – How Can I Best Help My Daughter or Son? May 19, 2016

QuestionoftheweekThis is a new series we have started running on Thursdays. Examining some of the questions involving long held Quiverfull theology and life.

One of the most common email questions that lands in the NLQ email box seems to be this:

‘My son/my daughter has decided to follow the evangelical quiverfull movement. I’ve seen how it’s damaging them and tried to talk to them about their beliefs but they have shut me out. How can I best help them? How do you get them to leave?’

This is one of those questions I have no hard and fast answer for except to encourage them to try and keep the lines of communication open and to tell that adult child that their door is always open no matter what happens. So I’m calling on you dear readers to come up with ideas on the best ways these concerned families can help their quiverfull family members.
