Quoting Quiverfull: Win Him Back With Good Behavior?

Quoting Quiverfull: Win Him Back With Good Behavior? August 29, 2016

Editor’s note: Lori is saying almost word for word something from Vaughn Ohlman’s book read last night in an NLQ Facebook video, that a wife must be perfect and perfectly submissively sweet to cause her husband to turn away from whatever ‘sin’ it is he is committing.

This is one of the most false and dangerous teachings in all of Quiverfull. How many of us have sacrificed ourselves, our children, our sanity, our time and every bit of our lives to this claim and ended up crushed?

If your husband’s use of pornography bothers you what is so wrong with simply talking to him about it in a non-blaming/judging rational way? Expressing an opinion or a need is not exerting control or taking part in feminism! Quiverfull theology reduces women to the role of children.

Now, I don’t believe Christians should be getting divorced over porn. The Bible states that wives who are married to disobedient husbands {such as looking at porn} should be in subjection to them with godly behavior and win them without a word. Even if you are furious with him, you don’t want him to spend eternity in hell. The Lord just may use your transformed life to win your husband to Him. Before you get on your high horse about being morally superior to your husband, just as they fight the monster of porn, you fight the monster of feminism and having control. Ask for forgiveness every time you disrespect him or try to take control. Stay as far away from any trace of feminism as you can. Don’t allow it to pollute your soul. Be an example of Jesus’ righteousness to your family and this is possible since His Spirit lives in and through you.

QUOTING QUIVERFULL is a regular feature of NLQ – we present the actual words of noted Quiverfull leaders, cultural enforcers and those that seek to keep women submitted to men and ask our readers: What do you think? Agree? Disagree? This is the place to state your opinion. Please, let’s keep it respectful – but at the same time, we encourage readers to examine the ideas of Quiverfull and Spiritual Abuse honestly and thoughtfully.
