Quoting Quiverfull: The No Spanking Movement is Part of the New World Order? October 7, 2016

quotingquiverfullby Michael Pearl from No Greater Joy – Spank and Save a Child

Editor’s note: This was written in the wake of allegations that Pearl’s book ‘To Train Up A Child’ was found in the homes of several families that abused their children to death, Hana Grace Williams and Lydia Shatz. It’s breathtakingly convoluted conspiracy theory that Mr. Pearl has worked out to justify his worldview instead of being open to examine the possibility that he might have contributed to the death of children. Nothing like being deceived and filled with martrybating.

The anti-spanking campaign is a front for an anti-family agenda, a progressive socialist movement to reengineer society with government the only mentor of children. A few well- placed individuals in government, media, and the educational system religiously promote a new world order where the collective state replaces God and the Constitution. They must control the minds of the citizenry if they are to institute their totalitarian policies; and they are well aware from history that mind control must begin with the youth—thus the public school system. But homeschool parents and Christian parents protect their children from corrupt worldviews. The socialists know that the last remaining bulwark against brainwashing children is parental headship—thus their hostility toward the family. As long as parents are free to pass on their culture and faith, totalitarian government is impossible.

Their earlier promotion of organic evolution was an effective wedge against Biblical faith and the dignity of man, but it has taken them as far as it can, for it is losing credibility in the face of genetic discoveries and contrary evidence. The leading edge of the attack upon parental authority is now the anti-spanking movement. They will use any means to police the home and mandate parental conduct, but they know that to receive public support their home incursion must be seen as a necessary act of compassion. They paint themselves as concerned now for the children they would have aborted a few years earlier.

Now, see, this is what happens when someone who expects to be a respected leader without earning respect or learning to lead has to deal with reality clawing at their self image — with defensive, incoherent word salad that boils down to “don’t question me because I have no idea how to handle questions from people I can’t beat or bully and those are the only tools in my toolkit.”

  • Saraquill

The government is bad for trying to be a stand in for G-d, yet Pearl calls himself an avatar, and that’s good?

  • pagankitty

The state is going to replace God and the Constitution? Does he realize that the Constitution is a state-document and not a religious text?

  • KarenH

Better to care about children who are alive than to do all one can to ensure children are born, only to be content to see them starve, die of easily treated disease and refuse to educate them properly.

Everything that contradicts me is on the steep slippery slope to hell or America turning into North Korea.

When I taught, we would have to create some “school-wide” goals for the perusal of the administration. The problem was that the goals were only ever used as a point to beat us with when the kids didn’t make the goals.

Eventually, I realized that no one cared about our goals as long as they had enough buzz words and percentages that seemed impressive, but were actually meaningless (e.g., a 25% increase on an ACT subscore sounds phenomenal – but the school average score on math was a 3 so we were aiming for a 3.75 average when the “passing score” was a 17….)

Mike Pearl is essentially doing the same thing I did with “buzz word bingo”; he’s creating something that sounds impressive but is completely meaningless.

Funny how the state stops being seen as “the state” when it’s beating up on the “right” people. It’s only “the state” when it helps or protects people that they consider undeserving or inferior.

Its the same when you work in childrens mental health treatment facilities too Mel. Sad.

What kills me about his insistence the govt organizations are out to take kids and destroy families are stories like a local one (happened just down the road from my house in fact) where a four year old girl was abused to death. It wasn’t even a case of religious fervor – just a woman who should not have been a parent – and until that little girl died, no one, NO ONE did anything about it. Not family, not friends, not CPS – no one. CPS is so concerned with keeping families intact here that this can (and did) happen.

This is the kind of anti-scientific bullshit you believe when you hide inside the Rightwing Media Bubble.

Please. Michael Pearl advocates a mini-totalitarian state within the family, and brags about how even his “six foot tall” children would drop to the ground in a flash if he ordered them too. All his kids are perfectly conditioned to fit right into a totalitarian state; they panic at exerting as little freedom as deciding what they want for dinner!

Plus, the Religious Right is completely down with totalitarian government, as long as their guys are in charge.

Does Michael Pearl not know that “progressive” is not an organization; there are no meetings or dues? Progressive is a world view. The view that we don’t have to settle for the status quo. Progressives helped give us public schools and libraries, because the US could not afford widespread ignorance. Progressives fought to end the practice of children working long hours in mines and factories. Progressives fought for safety standards in industrial settings so that workers wouldn’t be killed in fires. Michael Pearl has reaped untold benefits from the progressive world view, and I have a hard time believing that he is just so dumb as not to realize that.

“Parental headship”? What’s that? Give me a chapter and verse, Michael.

Michael Pearl sounds like a very ungrateful and rebellious person.

The non-existent New World Order again! Everyone go run for your lives! 😉

There simply has to be an evil conspiracy behind everything, hasn’t there? No space for just the old live and let live… No, whenever someone disagrees with them it has to be Something Evil with an Agenda.
