Quoting Quiverfull: Crown or Rottenness? November 6, 2016

quotingquiverfullby Lori Alexander from The Transformed Wife – Are You a Crown to Your Husband?

Editor’s note: Interesting that everything she lists as making a man miserable this author admits to doing for many years in her book. She’s sure the only Evangelical Christian I have seen that bothered blogging about the Brangelina divorce. In the unquoted bit before she pushed the idea of submission even if your husband is evil. Try to be enough of a smiling doormat and Jesus will magically change him. Does anyone know any couple where a woman’s submission did thoroughly change the husband from jerk to gentleman? I don’t.

A woman who makes her husband ashamed causes his life to be miserable and is rottenness to his bones. She has no self-control in areas that concern him such as finances, housework, or cooking. She spends her time on selfish pursuits and rarely thinks about her husband. She gives no effort to trying to make his life better in any way but takes him for granted and even uses him for what she wants. She nags, manipulates and quarrels with him. She is contentious and argumentative. There is rarely any peace in the home. She makes her husband’s life miserable. There is much division and disharmony. She has a long list of Honey-do lists and nags him until they are accomplished. She wastes her time on the trivial things in life, such as what Hollywood stars are divorcing, or what they are wearing and doing. Her husband is continually ashamed of her and regrets ever marrying her.

QUOTING QUIVERFULL is a regular feature of NLQ – we present the actual words of noted Quiverfull leaders, cultural enforcers and those that seek to keep women submitted to men and ask our readers: What do you think? Agree? Disagree? This is the place to state your opinion. Please, let’s keep it respectful – but at the same time, we encourage readers to examine the ideas of Quiverfull and Spiritual Abuse honestly and thoughtfully.

I don’t know anybody who is that uniformly bad. Lori’s just setting up a straw man, er, straw wife.

  • Anonyme

Some women may even devote hours to running blogs that shame and blame women and judge strangers’ marital relationship!

    Oh, wait…

  • Astrin Ymris

That… or Lori’s issues affect her RL social interactions severely enough to cause embarrassment for her husband and family.

  • Suzanne Harper Titkemeyer

Did you read her recent post about her various illnesses?

  • Astrin Ymris

Um… the one where she says she has 30 brain tumors, a damaged pituitary gland, neck problems, and some sort of gastrointestinal problems… but she’s waiting till next year before she sees a doctor, “because that’s the beginning of her health care year”?

And these people hate the ACA?!?

  • Suzanne Harper Titkemeyer

Yeah, that’s the one. I was blown away by the statement that she was told she needed to be monitored for the thyroid/pituitary gland and she didn’t do it, justifying it as that the organs must be working fine if she’s still alive.

  • Friend

    Dangerous example, that.

  • ConcepcionImmaculadaPantalones

30 brain tumors and she manages to blog? 😛

  • ConcepcionImmaculadaPantalones

A husband who loved his wife would be dragging her to a doctor kicking and screaming if necessary. Hers…why do I get the feeling he’s just waiting it out hoping he’ll be free of her soon?

  • persephone

It would explain a lot about her blog’s content.

However, it doesn’t explain why she’s not dead from the brain tumors.
